did the ghostbusters have spare packs?

i was thinking about this. when they started up the business, they didn't know they were going to be hiring a fourth guy, right? i'm sure i'm not the only one that noticed this, but when the guys are eating chinese food just before their first call, we see egon working on a neutrona wand. he left is at the firehall, so he must have been constructing a spare pack, which i guess is what winston later wore. oh well…. enough rambling. just something i've been thinking about.

something else you can tell is that at the final battle sequence in the first movie, you can see that the red sticker on the top of the pack behind the wearer's head, on the orignal GBs it was red, but on winston's it was silver, or a different color anyway. Thats just something i noticed that might indicate that he was working on another one.

That would be a cool prop idea to make the sticker silver instead of red.

Another way you can see this is in GBII when the Vigo pictures mysteriously catch fire. Winston Breaks down the door and you can see on a shelf right beside the door are Alice pack frames mounted to several proton packs on that shelf.

In GB2, Louis was able to get hold of complete GB gear - pack, suit (Egon's) and all. And all 4 boys were in the museum in full gear at the same time. Although I guess since two of the guys had slime blowers, maybe the pack Louis wore was Ray's or Winston's regular pack…

not necessarily,
all their equipment was in the ECTO-1A. Plus (in some cut scenes), Louis tried to bust Slimer and almost nailed Janine. So there must have been a 5th…

As well, in RGB, Louis and Janine helped out a few times with 5th & 6th packs…so did Slimer once or twice too.

Im shure they did have spare packs, BUT i dont know. My franchise will shure as heck have spares though.

In the RGB episode ‘Beneath These Streets’ the guys bring Ray a spare pack when they come to his rescue.

Ever notice how many packs go thru in RGB? Let's count how many times they've;
1. Set them to auto-destruct.
2. A ghost sets it to auto-destruct.
3. Crossed the streams.
4. Overloaded.
5. Lost them.

It's a lot huh. Also, when Venkman calls Egon and Ray about the; “Major slime-related incedent,” Egon is working on a slime blower, (c'mon, I KNOW everyone knows this, my mom knows this and she dosen't even know Ray's last name
