Don't like Ghostbusters The Videogame as an adult!

Personally, the reason I thought the Halo Games got worse over time was Bungie began to focus too much on how the game looked than anything else.

Well first I'd like to say ouch!
I've not played the game yet, I should be buying it on Wednesday or Thursday. But I have to agree on halo, I use to play it years ago with a friend and it's alright but nothing half life (1 or 2) or crysis can't beat. The only thing that really stood for me about the halo games was the single player co-op mode, thought even that had been done before by prefect dark.

What's wrong with that? The story already seemed to have been fleshed out pretty well.

Almost to the point now where the thread needs to be retitled: “I don't like Halo as an adult!”

When you already have a good looking game to begin with then it becomes a problem. The time, resources, and manpower used to make the game look “better” could have been better served to make the game longer, more challenging or incorporate stuff that was originally cut out of the game due to “time constraints”

I would like to point out however my gripe is not with the original “Halo: Combat Evolved”. The original was in development for awhile (not Duke Nukem :Forever long, but still a decent length from a development standpoint) and went through a few iterations and platforms before finally being released.

I dunno, I enjoyed the latter two because of online play (my best friend lived in California when Halo 2 was out and had moved to Boston by the time Halo 3 was out), and four player co-op in Halo 3 was the best because we had more people wanting to play with us and we always prefer co-op games to competitive ones. I liked the gameplay advances like dual wielding guns (if you can call something that was done in a N64 launch game an “advance”) and swords and the new vehicles. I guess Halo 2 and (more specifically) 3 were just more of what I was looking for in a game than the first one.

What we talking about when you say “already good looking?” Do you mean the original Halo or Halo 2? Because graphically speaking, both pale in comparison to how beautiful looking the third instalment was.

The game may have been shorter compared to the others but it was the closing chapter, and they may have not wanted to drag the story out too much further. I'm not sure just what other challenges could be incoporated… I find the crashed, flood infested Covenant ship to be one of the most challenging levels.

I can't comment on what was cut out from the others, as I don't know what that covered.

I will say that I felt the Arbiter was under-used, and the general absense of his ability to use cloaking or an energy sword was detrimental… but those are my major complaints. Well, than and killing off both Miranda Keyes and the Sarge, and replacing her vocal artist.

Yes.

Matter of opinion.

I thought the first Halo was graphically fine the way it is. The sad thing is I will have to wait 20 years when Halo 1 becames “Classic” Gaming before someone else will agree with me on that statement.

I will concede that there was a lot of inevitable graphical improvement between Halo 1 and Halo 2. I just didn't see that much graphical difference between Halo 2 and Halo 3…and because of that cannot see why people think Halo 3 looked so great.

Please do not get me wrong here. I am not trying to say that I dislike pleasent looking games. Thats far from the truth, it's just not one of the top tier things I am looking for in a game. That and I get sick and tired of people saying how great Halo 3 looked when I personally thought it looked like Halo 2

Damn us Gamers…we are fickle people…
