Like everyone who post here, when I was growing I use to love all things ghost buster, I have fond memories of the “real” Ghostbusters cartoon, had a fair share of toy as well. But after it went off the air I forgot about the details of the cartoon. Never stoped liking the movies however, as I got older the second flim sort of got worse in mind. But when I got the DVD box set, I watched the cartoon episodes that came as bonus material on those DVDs, I thought they were kind of bad (why does peter sound like Garfield!)(Also I noticed the same voice actor who did slimmer does the voice for Curious George kids on that show on pbs), it was kind of shocking actually. Thought there were a few things I like that wouldn’t have gotten as a kid. In the episode that was suppose to take place after the second movie. Toward the beginning peter better is being silly and singing during a party, which I immediately saw as reference to bill Murray’s Saturday night skits. For the record I know why peter sound like Garfield, it's because I've seen that cartoon fairly resent because it's still in sindcation thought I understant this was camplant back in the day as well. Any way hello I'm new.

And I understand completly what you mean and not on the gb's stuff on everty cartoon back in the day. I remember that some cartoon were awesome whe i was little but now they look weird and some kind boring, but maybe its because technology is so different now that we see all the old cartoons and games in a suckish kind of way, thats what I think.

I know what you mean, but you can't expect to enjoy stuff you watched as a kid on the same level anymore. Most of what I watched back then is terrible now. Just take it in and let it remind you of being young again.

One of the things about the cartoon was that only a handful of episodes were actually good and the rest were absolute crap and forgettable like most 80s cartoons. The thing about those good episodes is that they still are entertaining and still hold up today as just a fun ghostbusters story and not an obvious cash-in like most of the episodes. Most, if not all of the decent to good episodes are in the first 2 seasons.

Y'see… this is one of the things I knew would happen with the Ghostbusters resurgence: newbs getting on the board and filling it with crap that nobody cares about.

I'd say every episode until Lorenzo Music leaves has at least one laugh out loud moment - after that it still has occasional flashes of greatness. I like it MUCH more as an adult, the humour and interplay is incredible for a product of it's time. As compared to he-man, say, or transformers, the writing just shines.

Frank Welker's the voice of Slimer and yep he's still working… I often wonder to myself whether I should still be watching cartoons as I get older, though I'm not THAT old yet. Getting a girlfriend is of more interest to me at this point in my life than collecting every last thing associated with this franchise. Still, I have to agree with the above poster that the series is today still one of the best from its time period. Good writing in a kids cartoon back then was actually a rarity. Many of us here I'm sure gravitated towards the show not just because it had the gbs in it but because it was smart, had a brain, made us think and use our imagination like a good cartoon should do. A lot of my art is inspired by it in fact so as an artist I can't simply say poo poo I'm too old for it. I STILL draw ghostbusters and likely will never stop no matter how old I get… screw aging.

No such thing as being too old to watch a cartoon.

How could you not like the cartoon as a adult. I think that if it wasent for the cartoon ghostbusters wouldn't have been as big as it Is. While the films will always be loved and remembered by generations to come, if the cartoon never happened there would have been no GB toy line which would had led to no kid in the 80's growing up on GB. The first gb film was a little dark and aimed for adults where as gb2 was more family friendly because of how popular the cartoon was with the kids. As a adult I appreciate the cartoon even more now then I did when I was young.

I still love it, that is why i bought the complete series. there were some episodes that i didn't like but that is a small number. as a kid it was awesome, i almost crapped myself when EXB came out. now watching these 15-16years later(im 22) im happy to have them.
