I have been surfing the web for perfect sights that carry stuff for the ecto-1 and 1a:

http://www.cegraphics.com/

do a custom order there for GB decales at any mesurment.

Your gonna want the low-pro Economy light bar, or the Low-Pro Escort lightbar. Both very cheap, both come in all sorts of colours.

Not to throw a damper on things, but those bars are too short for an Ecto.. They would work fine on a normal passenger car, but they are too short for a caddy Ambulance..

I'd hate to have someone buy one of these and find out it wasnt what you needed..

How do you know these lights wont fit? Have you personally measured the roof of a '59 caddy and the lights? Just a simple question, considering a car place in gatlinburg has an Ecto-1 with these identical lights. I dont think you would want to be towing with a normal passenger car either wink

Be sure to check at this website, they sell lightbars for police and AMBULANCES, I've seen there products. Very nice though the prices could use some tweeking

The lights required for the Ecto are of Fire Engine length. 52" if I remember.. They originally were Code 3 Force 4 XLs. And believe me when I say I think TheEcto1a knows a lot about this, and has probably measured his Caddys roof a number of times..

Ecto-3,

Galls doesnt carry the proper light bars either. The only bar they stock that is correct for an Ecto is the Edge Strobe bar you need for the Ecto-1a. (And that runs about $1000 to get the proper width for an Ecto, Plus the custom lenses.) And YES, I've checked with them on the rotator bars. The only thing close shape wise is the new Code-3 MX7000 bars. And with those you end up with 2 levels of lighting that you dont need and alot of extra stuff, not to mention alot higher cost. Galls cant even special order the proper bars anymore from what they have told me. (Their master vendor catalog doesnt even list the bars I need) Luckily I've found a source for them and I can get them for about $700 each. (To do the Ecto-1a you need an ALL Light Force 4XL bar in a 54" bar. Which gives you 6 seperate rotators across the bar. The Ecto-1 needs the same bars with a speaker in the center. Still an oversize bar.)

And Yes, I have measured the Roof of a ‘59 Cadillac. I own 4 of them, including an Ecto-1a Replica. I can assure you that ’59 Cadillacs are wider than the measurements listed for those bars you posted a link for. (The sizes of the bars are listed on the detail pages for the individual lights.)

If you wanna check, my Ecto-1a replica is listed here in the Prop section. Here is a link if you wanna cut and paste and just right to it..

I'm just trying to help folks out here. smile I have some experience with this topic, so I figured I'd share my knowledge so folks didnt end up wasting money on something that wouldnt work. If you wanna put these bars on a normal car, Go for it, they should fit a sedan just fine. They wont fit a '59 Cadillac.

No problem. I was just sharing info here. (Which I believe is the reason for this board.) There IS a difference between the lights on the link posted and the actual lights, and folks have a right to know that. I wasnt trying to pick on anyone. IN fact, I did say that if you wanted to put them on a normal car, GO FOR IT. They should work fine on a normal car.

If folks want to pot them on their daily drivers, that's totally cool with me. They arent accurate to the movie, which is fine as well. I was just getting accurate info out there for the benefit of the entire GB Community.

No Harm, No Foul. smile We are all here cause we have an interest in the GB's. smile No worries here.

OHHH I know you, Those cars dont look half bad. Do all of them run or do all of them need a lot of work? My mistake with Galls, I was recommended to them a while back plus I havent been to their site in a while, my mistake wink BTW do you plan on renovating all four of your caddies?

Ecto,

3 out of the 4 ‘59s run currently.

The Ecto-1a Replica is running, drivable, has current tags, and I would say is sitting about about 90% on a 100% scale. The remaining 10% being some Detail updates I want to make as well as some mechanical upgrades and little detail items.

My ’59 Limo Runs and Drives Great. Its about 80%. The paint looks good from 10 feet. (Which is amazing cause its the original paint.) We have plans for a repaint of it, as well as a little bit of interior work. (Adding a Hidden Stereo system). Mechanically the car runs and drives excellent right now. We are going to be doing a little more to it. Its a Fairly rare Tri-Power car, and the outer 2 carbs are hooked up and active yet, so I need to work on that linkage some. And we plan on putting the Factory Air Ride Suspension system back into the car. (Everything is there except the Air bags.) Overall, its a great car though, and I end up bring it more than the rest of my ‘59s..

My ’59 ambulance is back from the Shop after an extended tour to correct some body damage and repair some Rot that occured back east. She looks worse than she really is. She starts up and runs fine. Next on the list is Getting the car in for final body prep and paint. Then we are going to rewire the entire car. (All the emergencly lighting is getting rebuilt and rewired) After paint and wiring, its custom fabrication of the missing interior in the rear..

The Only ‘59 that isnt running currently is my Hearse. But she is a ’59 M-M 3-Way Electric coach, so she is gonna be Stunning when we get her done. Currently she isnt running as the motor is out to be rebuilt. Once the mechanicals are done, she goes in for body surgery. (She came from Nor Cal, and has a decent amount of lower body rust) The interior is almost Flawless though. The headliner looks new, all the door panels are perfect. All I need to do in there is weld the table rack back in. (Previous owner took out the table.) I do have all the parts for it though, including spares, so its just a matter of putting her back together.. When finished she will be a Jet Black with the factory Deep Blue interior. (This will be painted to match the Limo so they can be used as a pair)

I also have some other Cars stored in my “Toy Box”. But I'm not sure folks would be horribly interested. I have a 1947 Chevy Street Rod with a Full competition Sound system, and I have a late ‘40s Ford Convertible Golf cart that was built for an episode of “Home Improvement” with Tim Allen.

Here is a link to a Photo of my “Toy Box” if you are interested. I’ll be putting up a new photo in the next couple of days. The Hearse is now in there, and the Toyota in the back of this Photo is now gone. smile In the Next couple of weeks I'll be adding 2 more vehicles to my collection. (I dont want to give away too much, but I will say they are not '59s though. Just have to wait and see.)
