Boomer…

Just for a neat little gag, why don't you try putting “GHOSTBUSTERS” on the hood of the car in backwards lettering? That way, you would have something like “SRETSUBTSOHG” to the normal eye, but “GHOSTBUSTERS” when read in a rear-view mirror. (Kind of like what they do with modern ambulances.)

If I got one of those windscreens for an outback, that would be really easy to do.

We actually thought about something along those lines. We simply decided against it because of how awful it would look in any normal picture (as in… not reversed).

It's a good idea, though…

nice Article.. The Ghostbusters saves the day again.. It'd be funny if you did what the GB's did.. when they asked you if they had to pay you.

“So how much do you want?”

“ Well for the towment, we'll have to ask you for $4,000 and this week we have specials on Proton Charging and storage of the beast, that will come to $1,000 fortunetly. ”

'$5,000?'

“ nah, I'm just kidding.. hahaha ”

Well when we did the interview, we joked about how it could have gone… pulling someone out of a snowdrift…

“That'll be 5 grand”

“I had no idea it would be so much”

“Well we can put your car right back in there….”

Allright…. About a week ago I recieved an email over Myspace from a local prog-rock/jazz/electronica/funk band called Orooni

www.myspace.com/orooni

They were doing a show at the Aggie Theater, the largest and most popular music venue in Fort Collins, and they wants us to park my car out front and dance onstage with them while they perform their cover of the GB theme.

Of course, I agreed. I got a permit to park the car on the side of the street in Old Town, blocking off several spots and lanes and giving us permission to run the lights and siren.

The event was a freakin blast!

Initial pictures from Friday night… video and pics of us onstage soon to come!

I've been invited to take my car to a Subaru Rally at Red Rocks this sunday. Apparently a bunch of STIs are meeting up here and convoying down…. should be fun!

I'll post pics as soon as I'm back.

A few weeks ago I started getting emails on my myspace inviting the FC GBs to bring our car to the Red Rocks Subaru Meet, which is sort of an unofficial car show up in the mountains just barely west of Denver.

Sunday morning I got up early, tossed a bunch of common junk (frisbees and cd cases) into the bed of my car and
pulled back the bed cover to hide it all. Washed the car briefly and then met up with about a dozen WRX STIs that were completely decked-out for racing. We traded names and had some donuts, Shauna moved her stuff into my car and then we were on our way.

Somehow I managed to keep up with these subie beasts on the interstate, at times pushing my car over 105 mph. Let's just say I had to reposition the dish when we got there…

My Ecto was one of the first 30 cars to show up…

Running the lights and siren, and blasting out our GB mix cd, we attracted quite a crowd. After about a half our we blew our main power switch, melted the bugger. I shut everything down then Shauna and I walked around talking to people and enjoying the beautiful warm day.

Over 220 Subarus and other street racers showed up to this meet. I was one of four wagons there, the other three were a brand new 2006 Outback (white… grrrr!), an older green legacy from Fort Collins, and a black Volvo!

Pictures taken by other people and posted on various interweb forums….

The best part of the day was being told by many groups of people that mine was the coolest car that showed up. I am not sure whether or not they knew about the Ferrari that was making its rounds, though

So… as I mentioned in another thread, I was invited to a Denver Hearse Club meet today. Basically a bunch of people were getting together and having an easter egg hunt in the Boulder Cemetary. I thought it sounded like a ton of fun.

After assurances that the meets happen regardless of weather, I pursuaded Austin to help me mount up the roof rack again for the day. I got all decked-out in black for the occaision. Trench coat, combat boots, purple tie, the woiks. I found it fun because I sooo much a hawaiian shirt and tevas kinda-guy.

It was quite a bit of fun, and I want to share some pics with you.

This is ALEXI, a hearse owned by Zachary Byron Helm, one of the coolest guys on the web (www.evilkicksass.com). Decked out with a pair of machine guns, a flame-thrower, an 8-rotator lightbar, and HUUUGE FUCKING WINGS, this car is insane.

Anyway, I thought it was cool. What do YOU guys think?
