I have that movie on DVD and it rocks. Don't you think that they would go for more realism if they wanted to? There were better special effects out at the time but chose to do it that way for the effect because it is a comedy as much as action. If you listened to Adam West and Burt Ward's commentary on the DVD you would understand. What if some kid ten years from now complains about the special effects in Ghostbusters being bad? Compared to today's technology, its inferior. You have to look at the capabilities of the time and the creator's intent.

Personally, I can't stand any of the newer Batman movies or shows. Batman '66 Rocks!!!

yeah, you guys are right, it is pretty cool. i kept on watching it, and it did get pretty good. the joker SHOULD have shaved off his mustache before he put on his make up, though. he lookes awful. i DO like the other catwoman, though, she's hotter. smile it had some FUNNY lines… “some days you just CAN”T get rid of a bomb…" smile

(Batman is racing through city looking for somewhere to get rid of the bomb in his arms. He decides to throw it in the water, but a flock of ducks is swimming by.)

Batman: Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!

That movie sucks! As did the series. It totally wrecked what Batman is about. Batman was always supposed to be dark and disturbing, like the comic, and the best thing about Batman is that he is deeply flawed himself, he isnt any goody goody Superman type, and he, at times, could be as bad as those he went after. The Tim Buton films ‘Batman’ and ‘Batman Returns’ though were brilliant. They totally did justice to the comic.

i know. the 66 movie was more comedy than action (as Ghostbusters) but like Jim said, it voids the original idea for the character of Batman.

i happened to of liked the 66 Batman (on tape), Tim's Batman, and Batman Returns. what pissed me off, was Batman Forever, and Batman and Robin.

they completely screwed up the feel of Gotham City, and the cool Batmobile which i grew to like. after Forever, it was nothin but a joke.

in the newer versions, they have neon and blacklights all over the frickin place, these stupid holagrams over the damn buildings, and 50's looking cars in this technicated piece of sh!t of a city, therefore, screwing up the balance of the enviroment.

not to mention the crappy designs for the buildings, which makes it look like they're about to tip from a stiff breeze.

the 66 version is simple, but it works, and the only ones of the newer series, are the ones Tim Burton made.

That's my opinion, and im stickin by it!
