Doc Eggman, you can really only judge how Batman is supposed to be by how his creator intended him, so Bob Kane's Batman is the only real Batman.
Even that site that you pointed out had written “a dark creature of the night, a bat, in order to instill fear into all criminals he encountered”. That certainly doesnt sound like the 60's Batman.

Apparently, he not only struck heart in the fear of criminals, he also struck fear in the heart of 30 foot dinosaurs and giant apes. Anyway, my point still stands. The Batman of the 60's more than adequately conveyed the outlandish nature that Batman had taken; and by no means is Frank Miller's nor Tim Burton's vision of the character the one definitive version.
