EGB Ghost Trap, Preliminary Model PICS

I have a friend in New York who volunteered to wear a Kylie Griffin costume if I made one (it's a costume that has not been done much, and particularly with as much accuracy to the show as I want to attempt).

Before going into expensive materials for the Trap (as the first part of the costume that is being attempted) I made a foam core, foamies, and poster board model of it. I wanted to see if I got the proportions all correct.

I'm thinking it might be a bit small. The largest circular part is 10" in diameter.

I'm going to be using much sturdier parts for the final piece, and they'll be a lot cleaner, too! (like the trap doors, those make me cringe!)

Don't cringe too much, the prototype is looking great and I think… it may be one of the most accurate ones yet… it may even be the only one someone's built because whilst I've seen a lot of talk about replicating it over the years, I haven't seen many get past the talk stage and one person simply used the toy Trap, which uses the older XGB Trap design that never appeared in the show.

However if you're worried about the size, all I can suggest it watch the episodes and see if there's anyway of finding a good size comparison.

And being a cartoon, there's no guarantee they drew it exactly the same size every single time. :-)

Kylie wore one on her backpack, and she wasn't exactly a large person. The trap didn't look like it was overly burdening her either, as I recall. This size may be pretty workable.

Kingpin: I've watched each episode twice, taking screen grabs along the way at all the detail shots. And Doc Fritz brings up a very valid point. There were huge contradictions everywhere, so I am going to try to take the average uses for each part.

Thanks a lot for the comments, guys!
