Harold,Dan,Ernie, and Bill ARE the ghostbusters so wouldn't you think maybe that the way the real actors have changed might have been the way the ghostbusters would have turned out in the 20 year gap between 1989 and now?

Christ, there will be over 20 years since his last appearance. The dude is older and it doesn't take William Shakespeare to write a script that explains that he's aged, especially not when he's playing a character with an affinity for sweets.

Include a “one big Twinkie” joke in the first 5 minutes of the movie and move on. It practically writes itself.

Yeah its been 20 years, I don't think it needs to be explained. I mean what about ourselves, the fans? How would we look when we get to their actual ages? I don't think anyone or the studio will tell the actors to get in shape. But the only thing for me about Egon is will Harold get the Egon ‘do’ on his hair again? I just wonder if thats a necessity?
I don't care if they need to get new actors as long as the old gang has decent to good parts in the film. But the physical aspect about the actors getting into shape to me is, its not like the other two films had them do so much anyway. Sure running might be out of the question, but can they not handle wearing the packs or shaking/acting when they shoot the proton beams? Rolling out a trap can't be too straining to do. Its just to me surely we'll see some of this from the old GB's as they, I assume need to train them new GB's. Which in of itself could actually make some good humor.

People seem to think that if there is a GB3 all of the actors are going to look exactly like they did in GB1 and GB2… Sorry to dash your hopes but it ain't gonna happen!

I can't remember where I read it, but somewhere was quoting Harold as saying that Egon would have been working in Switzerland (I think at somewhere like CERN) and I doubt his research there would have been as physically demanding as Ghobusting. Even if that isn't true, they have all aged and greyed (just look at Bill Murray), so Harold won't stand out.

I just hope the new film has enough screen time for the original cast…they're why I'd want to see it.
