EJ's Fanfiction

While I don't have any artwork yet (at least for now), in the meantime I am going into the fanfic writing buisness. But right now I am concentrating on writing drabbles. Drabbles are great for warm-ups especially when you are about to write lengthy stories.

I am very shy and embarassed about posting my own fanfics. It is not that I have no confidence in my writing abilities, but the insecurity has to deal with the weirdness of it all. Mostly because I am so used to reading OTHER people's fanworks, but when I read my own or when somebody reads mine, I get kinda…nervous.

I am working on two serious fanfiction, though. I just got hooked to the Ghostbusters again (since I feel the need to take a break from other fandoms once in awhile).

Now *cracks knuckles* to get back to that one Ghostbusters fanfic I am currently working on.

Completely understood. I was almost a nervous wreck when I submitted Fateful Encounter to GBN. It's hard to say anything other than “Do it!”, which you have.

It happens. You do one thing for so long you get burned out. Shorter stories are a good way to start. That's what I did–I started small with stories like the above, and slowly worked up to writing those intricate, half-dozen or so chapter epics.

Now *cracks knuckles* to get back to that one Ghostbusters fanfic I am currently working on.

I think you're off to a promising start.

I think it's kinda like one of those moments where you take the first dip in the pool. You get nervous, of course, wandering whether or not you're gonna drown but as long as you have your floaties with you it'll make swimming that much easier.

I like drabbles. It helps me get in touch with their personalities, helps me work on description and setting.

Dialogue is one of the major issues I am troubling with right now. I hate to have the Ghostbusters sound flat and boring without being amusing or whimsical. I like to entertain my audience, not bore them to tears.

That's good to hear. I'm also the same way when I post my fics too. I really enjoy reading your fics and keep the good work!

Oh, man! This is embarassing!

I just posted the same story in two accounts! Now I have to delete it. *laulghs* It'll be funny if it looks like I plagarized myself.
