I think that GB2 shouldve been alot more fresh, brand new, exciting & scarier beyond belife. dana ruined that, but none the less i still love the movie.

I read an article some place (I think it's the Rolling Stone article at Spook Central) that they even went as far as having other actresses read for the female lead in GBII. Don't get me wrong I really like Ghostbusters II alot but it could have been done better in some ways. I would have kept Dana but not have the ghost problem be her's. I think that there should have been more tension (comically speaking) between Venkman and Dana. That's where the first film really scored I think (“I'll proove myself to you”).

i'm with dougbuster. i liked dana being in gb2, but the tension just wasn't there anymore. it was too easy for venkman to get her back. seems like a lot of stuff like that was missing from the original, kinda like egon smiling.

I think that Dana Barrett didn't really have a place in GBII. However, Sigourney Weaver is such a good actress that she could pretty much read the phone book and make a good movie. After all, she used to shoot aliens. What might have helped this position is if Dana were to strap on a Proton Pack. And maybe even have a ghost pop out of her chest at the end. I don't know. Maybe that last part was a little too far, but Dana could've put on a pack and joined the guys. It would've been cool!

What the heck??? Are you crazy? The ghostbusters got back together basically because of her problem. Most of the movie is about her son!
