Everyone Can Relax, I Found The Car!

It is with great excitement I finally announce my intention to build an Ecto replica. After 5 months of calling, dealing, and logistics, my 1959 Cadillac Miller Meteor Combination is finally home from Alaska.

I intend to open this project up to the Ghostbusters community and document every step of each restoration process. I want to share as much information with all of you as possible, and in turn, would love to hear the suggestions, comments and ideas from everyone in the community.

I look forward to posting more information about this car and the project overall in the coming days. Below are images that are merely minutes old. I will construct a better page at the same URL as things start falling into place.

She's a beaut, definately a dimond in the rough.

Interesting, those rear wheel arches look like a different body panel to the other Combos I've seen… maybe it got modified during it's lifespan.

Still, considering some of the 59s we've seen, she's pretty decent condition, what's her milage like?

I see a future, Chad, a future in which we cruise around in the Ecto-1 picking up fly honeys. A future in which we will use nerve and sense gasses to induce hallucination. A future in which people thinking they're seeing ghosts will call us. A future in which conveniently, we will show up to get rid of problems with a fake electronic light show- and a future in which my head bobs up and down in front of the steering wheel for others to look at in astonishment and arousal.

Good on ya, mate.

My friend, it is truely a thing of beauty, I commend you sir on finding it. Aside from the obvious problems with the car, it looks like its in fairly decent condition too! Good luck to you on the restoration process, I will be following it with great intrest. (*peter)

So YOU'RE the guy who bought that one! Chuck showed it to me on Ebay a couple months ago. And yeah, Kingy, those rear panels were modified. Why I have no idea.

Mileage on the title says “N/A”, but the odemeter reads 47,000. The engine is the original, but it was rebuilt, so give or take.

Gonna leave on the mileage or reset it should ya work on the engine any?

Good question. I'm not sure, we'll see. I think I'll leave it the way it is. Also, I don't recall this car ever being on Ebay, it is certainly not how I found it.

I coulda been wrong; Chuck shows me so many damn Caddies they kinda blend together. Pretty sure it was once, though. I know I saw pics of it parked in front of the dude's garage.

Anyhoo, leave the Odometer alone; may not matter to the engine but it's like a badge for the car.
