Everyone Can Relax, I Found The Car!

River_of_slime,

The one I'm looking at is a ‘59 Superior, dark blue in colour with black roof. Ex-California car, it was imported to Australia about 10 years ago. The original colour was dark blue, but since ’59 it has had a few colour changes, and ironically the current owner sprayed it dark blue again (without knowing that is what the original colour was).

Apparently there are only two ‘59 Cadillac Hearses in Australia, and this Superior is one of them. So don’t worry, this one's not gonna be an Ecto. I made the owner an offer which he's accepted, so the check's in the mail on Monday, and shipping will be organised later in the week. So hopefully it'll be in my driveway in time for Christmas

Forgot to mention, I'll upload all the photos for you in a few days. It's a beautiful car and if you love Cadillac's, you'll love this. It's a pearler.

I'd like to take the car to a few car shows next year, too. I reckon everyone should get a chance to see a car like this up close!

DUDE! It says Superior, Euerka, MM, and the others on the coach thats one way to tell the diffrence along with the style. PLus just to let you know I dont know the diffrences in regular caddys except chrome treatment. I just know the main diffrences the coach companys used to set theres apart from everybody else.

Okay, but not every car is gonna have all of it's parts… just say, um…

“Meteor Millers are the same make as Ecto-1… and etc etc”.

It's just… it feels like blitzing people for info they might not have, I didn't know there was a badge that said if it was a Superior or a Eureaka… but if there wasn't, how is a person supposed to know? Know what I'm saying?

Sorry if there was a misunderstanding.

I don't know much about Eureka's, but the main differences between Superior and Miller Meteor is the body and trim. To me, the stand-out feature of the Superior is the rear window. It has a really cool look, much more fancy than the plain-looking Miller Meteor (I know, blasphemy!).

Oh yeah, and most of the time the coach builder's badge is on the vehicle.

I agree with Rick, the main difference is the rear window. However, contrary to what Rick said, I think the MM is a lot smarter, especially as an Ectomobile, because the Superior's hearse qualities are immediately apparent. It would look much less cool if it had a silver thing on the back and had the continuation of the roof at the rear.

Actully out of all the coach builders I like MM but my dad likes the Superior. The MM hearse is just very formal to me and its super pretty. The uglyiest coach is S&S it only has flat glass except the windsheild

It's all a matter of opinion, I suppose.

I'm not sure if I agree with you in that the MM is more formal. The Superior is definately more suited to formal duties such as hearse-ing in my opinion.

It'd never make an Ectomobile, though.

Ha, I wasn't talking about the Caddy Ambulance in general, I was talking about Superior's edition of it.
