We got one!

I just successfully tracked down and purchased the Federal C5GB siren. This is my first official accessory for the car (many more to go).

I was also lucky enough to find 2 Code 3 lightbars a few months back, before I purchased the car, which I plan to purchase soon if they are still available.

You going to mount it as is, or renovate it with a modern sound system so you can play a file of the siren/the theme tune at public events, Chad?

I plan on wiring an external audio system through the center grilles of the lightbars which will be hooked up to my internal audio system. Anytime I want to blast the siren and/or the Ghostbusters theme, it will be done on a push of a button.

Heh, that's probably the better design option, keep the Federal siren in near-mint condtion.

But where did you find your lightbars? 5 years ago they seemed pretty common, coz just about every tow truck in Sydney used them, but now they seem virtually extinct!

They are incredibly hard to find. Through the magic of google I found this place that sold used emergency equipment. They have the exact same lights in the current length (very important). The only downside (which is partly why I didn't buy them initially, the other reason was this was before I had purchased the car) is the blue filters have square holes cut into them and the end caps are clear. The good news is I can buy these parts seperate and I have found them on a few sites.

Just saying is all that other people have made similar claims and haven't backed it up… though now I know he does at least seem to know what he's talking about. :p
