At least they have taste, Rick.

And that Police car is frankly beautiful, I know you don't own it though.

Hehe, that they do. Actually pretty nice folks when you talk to them. The guy that owns the '59 Lowrider had a huge mohawk, and he and his mates were decked out in leather jackets and chains, and his missus had bright pink hair. Out there… but nice folks

Yeah the cop car was pretty cool. Not exactly the same make as the Blues Mobile, but he did well. There was also a beautiful 58 Plymouth Fury, similar to Christine, except dark blue. And heaps of Mustangs. I had Mustang overload by the end of the day.

Chadmeister!

I haven't been here in ages. How's your hearse going?

My Superior made it's debut in January at an All American Day show. After over a year of ownership, I finally got to show it! I tell ya, park a hearse at a car show, and it'll attract every goth, punk, emo, and freak around. Like moths to a flame, hehe. Those kids love it. Brought a smile to their gloomy faces.

LOL! Hehe

Very cool hearse, you plan on converting it to an ecto?

Chad,

It's nice to see someone taking the time to restore this classic car. Restoration can take a lot of time and money, but it's worth it for a car like yours!

(^_^) Has anyone else checked out this ebay link. I've soooo been looking for a car, but wanted to get some of your expert opinions. It seems like it might be too expensive, but if you read everything that is included, it would be the most awesome car ever…

It looks like they have other cars for sale too.

There was a discussion about it at another forum. It's bogus.

I stumbled across this auction whilst doing the rounds on eBay UK and figured it smelled so bogus to me it was worth reporting:

eBay_co_uk 1959 CADILLAC ECTO 1 Ghostbusters w-Eleanor Mustang Per (item 260123084336 end time 07-Jun-07 110000 BST)

Auction highlights:

(Sections bolded sound the most ludicris)

Sometimes we find just that right kind of car for just the perfect build. We are excited to bring you this beautiful and elusive 1959 Cadillac Miller/Meteor Pro car. This is a fairly solid and complete car, but will receive a complete rotisserie restoration to bring this rare vehicle back and beyond factory condition. Since we are a full automotive restoration facility with an emphasis on performance, this vehicle will not only have every piece removed and reconditioned or replaced

And all for a bid price of £1,000? it's definately not going for that Buy-it-now of £67,500.00)

but the final example will sport a fully built supercharged bigblock petrol engine and driveline which will be capable of propelling the car down the road at unfathomable speeds.

Using a car of that size?

Given the physical parameters of this car, a specially built four-link heavy duty Independent Rear Suspension will be crafted to allow this vehicle to truly handle the increased power and drive this car the way we envision and see in the movies.

That's because in several shots the footage was sped up.

See the proposed after pictures to see what the customer wants their car to finish into. We have two more '59 Miller/Meteors awaiting restoration or make your own Ecto1 with the performance to outperform any of the maneuvers seen in the movies. And do it again and again. This auction includes a fully restored 1959 Cadillac Miller/Meteor Endloader that comes outfitted with all the performance features listed below as well the working lights, sirens, and decals necessary to faithfully replicate the Ecto1.*You only pay a deposit until car is complete. See payment paragraph for more information.

The Gallery:

Check the gallery, she contains some familiar Ectos/ambulances there and funnily enough… not a single picture of the actual car in question.

Now, from glanging over the description they've done their homework as to the variations of the 59s and some of the components added on for the Ecto-1 convo… and whilst there's some interesting images to behold on their site… I can't fathom that the claims they make in that auction listing are even possible, not for something akin to the B.I.N. price.

You think that is a cheap B.I.N.? I thought it was expensive. Anyway, I don't think you get all that for £1,000 since there is already a bid at that price and it says “reserve not met”. The reserve is probably as high as the Buy It Now price. Hey secrecyguy, you said another forum said it was bogus, which one. I was just curious if anyone had contacted them yet and if that's how they knew. Could the pictures on their website be one of the ones they are using. It's the blue one in the pictures. I'm going to request some additional pictures and info, I'll let you know if I get a response. I did see that the same people just sold an Eleanor replica and have another for sale. They have all positive feedback and say they are Paypal Verified. Anyway, I hope it's not bogus, It's alot of moolah, but is atleast feasible.
