G'day Chad,

Congratulations on finding yourself an MM Combo! Funny thing is, I've got a photo on my computer of that exact same car that I downloaded YEARS ago off some Hearse website. And for a car that's nearly 50 years old, I reckon it looks pretty decent.

Ghostbuster_Bill is right though, a car that rare would fetch a pretty penny if restored to original condition. But then again, an Ecto-1 is just too damn cool to pass up. Just make sure anything you do to the car can be un-done if you ever sell it.

Speaking of replica cars, it's all the rage down here. I went to a wedding on Saturday and the bridal cars included two Mad Max Interceptors! I also know a guy in Melbourne who made a right-hand drive KITT Trans AM which turned out awesome, too.

Catch ya later

I don't think he needs to worry about making sure things can be un-done. There are alot of Ghostheads that would buy that car as an Ecto 1. Finding one with enough money could be hard, but so could finding someone to buy it as a regular 59 MM.

If I had the money I'd've bought, converted, and toured my own Ecto by now. As long as the car is restored and maintained, who gives a flying fig what's done to it?

Seriously, do they REALLY consider turning it into an Ecto RUINING it? because Ectos are a HELL of a lot harder to come by than Miller Meteors, so wouldnt that make them rarer cars?

The license plate website is www.licenseplates.tv the plate is about 75.00 to have an authentic looking 1980's New York plate made. You can make your own example of a plate and see how it would look completed on the site as well. I know I will be sending for one sometime soon.

That is a cool website! I had no idea something like that existed.

It'd be interesting to find out how many New York plates saying “ECTO 1” they've sold.

Thanks so much EKTO 1, that's exactly what I was looking for. I'll be ordering those plates soon and I'm almost done with the first version of the site.
