Hi guys, on the last months a couple friends of mine was telling me that there´s a car like the one used on Ghostbusters movie in a town near my city… they told me several times to go and check it out… well, finally I decided to go to Canatlán, DGO and look for it. My wife and I drove 1 hour to this town, and I asked for the “Ghostbusters car”, everyone knew about it, and told me where can I find it. And I did.

I found this ambulance, I dunno what car is it (it looks like the one Jettajeffro owns), but it´s from 1973, the car is in good condition, but have several months left in that place, rust started to make its job… the motor isn´t working or that was told to me, the tires are flattened, and some lights are missing. The interiors aren´t that bad, some dusty and spiderwebs everywhere (I´m freakin´ arachnophobic, though the owner opened it, I didn´t dare to get in!!), the seats need some work but everything else is in good conditions.
I asked the guy, a german called Johan Peters, if he is selling it, and how much wanted for it, he told me he isn´t the real owner, there are various owners, and they didn´t wanted to sell it. Several people has asked him the same, even a person from USA has come and offered US$2000 and neihter took them.
Here are some pics:

I´ll keep in contact with Mr. Peters hoping for some day the owners decide to sell it… this is the most accurate car I have found since I saw my grandpa´s hearse back on 2008 (pics here: http://forums.ghostbusters.net/showthread.php?t=9773 ).

It's an Oldsmobile. Ours had little rust, no engine (the wrong transmission sitting in the back), and some body damage and was $1000. The body doesn't look too bad. It would be a great car if you have the money to put into it. Luckily the labor to work on our car was donated to us because of our charity work, and the parts we were able to get at wholesale, but we still put thousands more into it and spent months just finding one part. Believe it or not, there are more parts available for a 59 Caddy, than these 1970's ambulances. There's only a small fandom base for them. The only parts you'll find readily available are the generic parts that were used on the standards cars. For example our new armrests came in yesterday, but they were the same armrests used on every Pontiac that year, same goes for the mirrors.

I know it will be expensive to fix the car, the guy I talked to told me he can fix it, he knows this car as the palm of his hand, he drove it for several years, but a few years ago they got a newest ambulance… so they left this behind.
Thanks for posting.
