Just going to get the line work done soon, but as a half sleeve (this is just the general idea) whats everyone think? Im pumped.

Not good at coming up with constructive criticism, but it sure is a wicked Murray caricature.

If the text has to be on it, I suggest lowering the “The Streams” so it isn't tangled up with the Bill Murray line art.

I'd also suggest rounding off the rays rather than having them be a square box.

Otherwise it's certaining an interesting design, and like Zombie said, a good charicature of Murray.

I don't really get it… Why is Bill Murray praying? Why are you using what appears to be his likeness from today rather than from the movies? Why are there blue and yellow stripes behind him?

I agree with the previous points that have been made though. Round off the stripes, and lower the text for “The Streams” so that its not in the middle of Murray's chest.

Also, just another thing, if that is indeed supposed to be going off of what Murray looks like today, might want to consider that as you get older and wrinkly, so will your tattoo. So getting a tattoo of someone who is supposed to look wrinkly is gonna look wrinkly even more when you get older.

His not being old and wrinkly is explained by the ‘VENKMAN’ on his chest.

And obviously the blue and yellow is the standard way of depicting sun rays.

I like it, you've got plenty here for your tattoo artist to work with, he should be able to go through the design process with you and adapt it to something you are both comfortable putting on your body.

Let us know of any progress.

The reason hes praying was, I know tons of people who have virgin mary praying tattoos, saying she is an extremely important person In their life and has helped them through many hard times in their life, well, not being religious, the ghostbusters did that for me I tell em so I figured I would get bill murray praying, and the blue and yellow ARE sunbeams but will end up being white and gray and fading out, it isnt going to stay a box. Also the text will be solid kind of covering up the bottom of him so it doesnt just look like he stops, ya know? I may also being going with this version, badly photo shopped but you guys could see the final idea in your head.

Now again, with this newer version you're showing… Bill Murray looks extremely old to me. As if you are going with his present day likeness over how he actually looked in the movies. Is there a reasoning for that or no? It just seems odd to me.

Wait, Ben… you didn't really just suggest that because his clothes have a word on them that he isn't old and wrinkly did you? Come on man, lol. The wrinkle lines that go way down his neck, and now the gray hair in the more recent picture. Its pretty clear.

I happen to have a tattoo… so I don't get that response at all. Are you trying to say that all tattoos have a religious connection? Or that they all involve praying? Or were you just trying to make some oddball joke that you thought people would just laugh at because they didn't understand that “its a tattoo thing”?

However, the Virgin Mary explanation that was given makes sense… in an odd twisted way that will probably get you A LOT of strange looks. But the point of a tattoo is to make yourself happy, not others. So really, in my opinion, you shouldn't be asking any of us what we think, Inelson. It doesn't matter what we think. Don't let other people's opinions of it change yours. You should get whatever you want tattooed exactly the way you want it. Its on your body for the rest of your life, not ours. If you like the drawing particularly one way, get that, don't worry about what others might think.

For example, I'll come out and say I think this drawing looks really stupid, and would look even worse as a tattoo. But I'm not the one getting it, and it doesn't have the emotional significance and meaning that it does to you (the drawing, not Ghostbusters, cuz I plan on getting a Ghostbusters tattoo eventually). But regardless of the fact that I think it will look awful… if you can't handle people not liking the tattoo and people scrutinizing it, and you want to come on and edit the look of it to fit what other people think would look good, then plain and simple you shouldn't be getting a tattoo in the first place.

And please don't take offense to any of this. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just trying to help you make your choice for yourself.
