The lighting tip is strange, but I was most perplexed at the shooting time tips.
Each scene does not have to be filmed 8 to 10 times. It depends on a few things:
-How many angles you want in the scene
-How efficient you are (see my first post)
-How many times it takes to get it right
For example, I used just one angle for an entire scene, a scene that would last no more than a minute, and was just dialogue. Now you'd think that because it was one angle, it would take very few takes, right? Well, between tech problems, problems the actors were having, and a few other things, it ended up taking roughly 13 takes.
So consider that.
As for script problems, well, once again, who else do you have involved? You could get someone who may be better at dialogue stuff, and collaborate with that person on the script.
