Ghostbusters 1, hands down. 
GHostbusters 2 was good, it was darker thats what i liked about it.but there was some things about that seemed to be rehashed i agree with Ecto-1 about that. but GB1, will always be one of a kind, the characters had a lot more comic chemistry in the first one which made it funnier. In the second one, it seemed like they just slaped the characters together in hopes that they'd have chemistry. Also GB1 has way more lines, more well written,more thought out, just best overall . but anyway, thats just my opinion (*peter)

The second movie was a tasty after dinner mint.
But the first will always be the main course in my book, a famous novel, with hot chicks in it.

The second was in no way a failure. All of you all know that but some people insist it was. Today if a movie makes $120 mil or less it is considered usually a huge success and often sparks a sequel. In 1989 GB2 made roughly 112 mil domestically alone. It cost about 30 mil to make. Big money was made.

Part one was DEFINITELY a classic, and to REALLLLLY enjoy and FEEL part 2 haha, you HAD to watch part 1. So, its def. part one.
Funny enough, when I first watched GB, I never considered GB to be a comedy (except the part when Egon pushes the dude with his finger…CLASSIC!!!). Only until I got much older did I realize all the comedy in it. It was always much more of a super hero movie to me.
And I agree it part 2 was a re-hash, tho an AWESOME re-hash, with pimp music and a dancing toaster.
