Your favorite character from the Three Stooges

Curly Joe and Joe Besser were obviously the weakest addition to the Stooges. And many people argue over this, but I think Shemp was better than Curly.

But no matter what, my favorite will always be Larry.

I like the original three, and Shemp was an original member before he was replaced by Curly who was replaced by Shemp!

Little do people know that there was actually a seventh Stooge (well sort of). I remember reading that in the early years of the Stooges when they were just a stage show, that their manager was also a part of the act. I forget the guy's name though.

Ted Healy was not considered one of the Stooges.

Moe, Larry, and Shemp started off with Ted as ‘Ted Healy and his Stooges’. Shemp left after two (?) films with MGM, and Curly replaced him. Eventually, due to many disputes between MGM and the 4 of them, their contract expired and Columbia offered just the boys a deal in 1933. ‘Woman Haters’, their first short, was a musical number which was highly acclaimed and loved throughout the country. Eventually, their third short for Columbia, ‘Men in Black’, was nomianted for an Oscar and the boys' career skyrocketed. Curly had a stroke on the set of his final short with the Moe and Larry, and had to leave due to it. Eventually Shemp came back, and the rest is history.

So much of the physical comedy people like Jim Carrey do today can be attributed to Curly Howard.
