I will also say, it's not a good idea. There are no existing female comedians that would do a good job, or female actresses for that matter. My close, yes I said close, excuse would be Anna Faris of Scary Movie fame, but after Scary Movie 2 she probably won't be asked to do much more acting.

There is a high, very high chance that there will be a female ghostbuster in the new movie. Movie makers today are trying to find something different and new and a female ghostbuster is just that. Even in the novel that I am beginning to write called the Future of the Ghostbusters: In a Fan's Eyes, I even have Ray's daughter become one of the few and the proud. Anyway this is how it is and they probably will have a female star in the movie. I don't really disagree becasue of how they need to add new stuff to the ghostbuster list.

I think Drew Barrymore would make a good Ghostbuster for GB3. Perhaps maybe as the offspring of Peter Venkman and Dana Barrett. If she can pull off being an Angel, the possibilites are limitless as to what she can do as a Ghostbuster!
