Okay..what little ego I have is now assuaged…

(*peter)–Whatever the hell that means

CJ, I think I understand what you mean..the fact that I'd been struggling with this story for two months and was getting a little tired of fighting it showed a little, I guess. Though some of the abrupt moments were intentional.

Y'see…“Shadow of the Inquisitors” isn't just a story on it's own. Some of the characters and situations I set up there will be coming into play in later stories: “Shadow” starts a sort of arc of stories, with some themes that will weave through “Zodiac Imperative”, “Forever”, and “Gemini Rising.”

Some of the characters have specific destinies in store for them. Barney and Liz (Lady E) have legacies (or potential legacies) that have been already hinted at (if you look in the right places ). The others…well…let's just see, shall we?

Well, the feeling that I got was that there'd be a Round 2 between the Baron and Anatole that I can't wait to read, even if the Ghostbusters aren't involved. Plus, your ego getting assuaged means that you now know that people read and liked your story.

You may remember Sinister's story Ghostbusting 101 from GBN. Fun little story, but written before the Timeline was introduced, and thus, from its standpoint, full of “inaccuracies”.

Well, a couple of months ago Iain agreed to let me rework it to become more “Timeline friendly”. Version 2 was created, but Iain's long sabbatical from the boards kept him from seeing and approving it, so it was never posted.

Then Kingpin came up with some ideas. So they became part of the mix too, and now I'm pleased to present…

Ghostbusting 101 Version 3
By Iain Bennett, Ben King, and Fritz Baugh

Peter Venkman goes to college, looking for coeds and an easy A. But then he gets roomed with an eccentric fifteen-year old science prodigy named Egon, and his life would never be the same…

Now it can be told…

We've just seen how Venkman and Egon met…we'll be seeing how Ray met Venkman and Egon met Ray eventually…and we all know how they met Winston.

So what's left?

The untold “secret origin” of one of Ghostbusters' core characters…

Ghostbusters: Fateful Opportunity

1983–Timeline Year One
Janine Melnitz (*janine) is a twenty four year-old single girl from Brooklyn who's just quit her job. So, desperate to pay the rent, she takes her friend's advice to apply to a new company calling itself “Ghostbusters”…

(*egon) –Hm…fascinating…

Fritz, I had a chance to read your Ghostbusting 101 story. Had me laughing my head off at a few places!! Now that is the kind of stuff I like! :-) :-) :-)

:-O –Sheesa reading your stuff now???

As I said above, Ben and Iain get a lot of the credit for that one. But on behalf of them, I thank you for your praise.

If I do any more stories that don't have Janine in them, I guess I'll let you know :p

No, no, no. they don't necessarily have to NOT have Janine in them, just not her going overboard to get Egon's attention :-) . Cuz in the movie, she was more reserved, and that was okay.

I liked Fateful Opportunity. It was really pretty funny. Janine, when done right, is a great character.

I almost hate to say it, but I agree. Expect for the part where “The Disease Of The Week” begins :-) . Oh well. Now…….aw Damn!! I forgot what I was gonna type.

EDIT: I remember now. Deann does make a good point about how wearing mini-skirts does attract unwanted attention.
