Most people know the 360 is weak in Japan, but not in NA. That's why Square is bringing out FFXIII here for Xbox as well as PS3. It's PS3 only in Japan.
The PS3 here is… well, it's no sales powerhouse like the 360 or Wii. Like them or hate them, it is what it is.
The PS3 library has been weak with no real exclusives outside of Metal Gear Solid 4.
I am hoping that work has come along far enough on all versions (which I'd believe at this point considering the game had about two months to go before release), that they wouldn't trash all the programming Terminal Reality did for the 360 version or Red Fly did for the Wii. PS3 is not strong enough here for exclusives realistically, especially for a game that begun as multi-platform.
And I'm not all bat-mess about Blu-Ray to justify getting a movie player that coincidentally happens to play games. That's how I feel the PS3 has been marketed towards consumers.
The biggest thing depends on more than saying yes, it's not cancelled, yes, it will be published (though we'd all like to know by who), but at this point and most importantly, yes, its still a multi-platform title that all systems can enjoy.
This delay is a debacle. On everyone's part because no one can say anything due to being tied down by someone else.
And the blame is still primarily in Activision's hands, though Columbia/Sony is doing nil to further ease matters.
