Game To Fuel New Film?

If a new film was gonna happen, it would've happened long by now.

Not necessarily. Look how long it took for Indiana Jones. Sometimes things just don't come together at a specific time, it takes 20 years to get things together, lol.

Thing is though, given what we know about the reasons why it hasn't been produced yet, the likelihood dims year after year.

With Indiana Jones, it was a matter that George Lucas and Steven Spielberg were willing, but were also very tired and ended it with Last Crusade, even though they were contracted for 5 movies.

If it were not for the fact that there was still some passion in there for Indy between Lucas, Spielberg, and Ford (who it is always said kept in better shape than most actors his age because he was always hoping for another Jones movie) we probably wouldn't have even gotten Indy 4, whereas it almost seems like the only one with any passion at all for a GB3 is Dan Aykroyd and possibly Ernie Hudson.

You don't really hear Harold Ramis talking about another flick, and Bill Murray definitely doesn't mention GB3, and he's slowly been moving more into arty films in the last few years, but even his outputs been slowing. Rick Moranis, Annie Potts, and Sigourney Weaver are all enjoying their semi-retirements.

Which is where the idea of a CGI film comes into play.

Those that weren't willing to do it before, are present in the game, which takes just as much, if not more work, due to the enormous size of the script.

I have no problem with a CGI film. I just, in that case, don't want it called Ghostbusters III, as it won't look like the previous films. Its like Star Wars: Clone Wars. Just call it Ghostbusters: Hellbent. Problem solved.

Is the CG movie still a possibility, or has that been scrapped in favor of the game?

There was an interview where Aykroyd said that if the game did well, that he hoped to do another movie, probably in CGI because of Murray. But there have been others where he said that this is essentially the third movie. From what I've heard him say over the years I think he'd still like to do another film in whatever capacity he could.

This guy comments about the possible film took the words right out of my mouth.

Chinese Whispers of the 21st Century, wonderful.

It's times like these that show the inherent stupidy of the world's largest information collective.

On the subject of could a new Ghostbusters movie be done, yes, possibly.

But Indiana Jones was just hard, though. There were parts he was his old self, and parts that… I don't know. Did he seem like he was just out of character, even in his voice when he made his introductory scene?

He didn't seem like Indy for most of the first scene, but then all of a sudden it's like he remembered how to be the character again.

I guess my point is that you have this idea in your mind of the way you remember them looking, then after seeing them 15-20 years later, the effect is more jarring than we'd like to admit.

Ernie Hudson, however, does not age. That guy is immortal.
