Talking about videogames and their languages. Here in Mexico I got HALO3 and GEARS OF WAR translated entirely to the spanish (way cool!), but I don´t wanna have GHOSTBUSTERS on spanish (I dunno if it will be translated when it comes to my country), the real voices will be missed (and that´d be such a tragedy, this is one of the game greatest points), so I will buy my game directly from a store on the USA… just like I did with the MONSTER MADNESS game, that comes with spanish subtitles…
and I wanna know, how often are the videogames subtitled?? particular in spanish??? Will GHOSTBUSTERS be released with spanish subtitles???

I'm sure that I will be disapointed if the game came in french! The governement here is trying to “save” french and one of its new law project wants to translate all the new game in french. I always put the subtitles in english to not miss something, a french subtitles can be cool.

Oh and why I'm worried, Dan Aykroyd speaks french :p :-)

Even if he didn't, he probably won't be doing the dub versions anytime soon. It'd probably be easier and cheaper to subtile.

That's irritating to hear. If French is in decline, any ‘saving’ measures are merely temporary ones.

That being the case, maybe you should try getting a copy in from the United States so you don't have to worry about playing a copy that was converted into French.

this reminds me of the time I put the French language on the dvd just for kicks and laughed my a&* off. It just hard to hear some one say I been slimed in a French accent thats all I'm saying. Even when there post to be a big dramatic seen it sounded funny.

lol, “I've been slimed” and “il m'a tout englué” sure have their difference

And despite the languages on the dvd, we understand the exact same way how Venkman is disgusted :-)

About the dramatic scenes… mhh, probably because I'm tired, the only drama I remember in the movie is when the dog tells Dana to go work in the kitchen :p :-)

All the languages are good on the dvd. Specialy the voice behind Dana. In french, because how things are said and different lines, I almost have a new movie.

For exemple, in english, Louis say “That's the sign!” Janine add “It's a sign alright, we're going out of business!” In french, Louis say “That's the sign! It was written!” Janine add “Yes, and in burning letters, we're becoming Sos Unemployment!” (instead of Sos Fantômes ).

I still believe that french have its place in the world. And lucky me, there'll always be a place to sale original version of a game

Now I'm only afraid to see the new Indiana Jones… they made the voices here instead of keeping the ones we had since the beginning :p

Well, I see the thread went off topic… I´m asking about the games subtitled… I wanna know if all the games released on USA are subtitled, cause I wanna have it that way, not translated. :p

Well I hope that the game will be subtitled in english at least… “do-re-egon” confused me in the past :p :-)

But to answer the question, not all games are subtitled, sadly.
