GB uniform question

Hey guys. I have a couple of questions bout the GB uniform. Maybe someone here will know the answer. Ive finally gotten serious enough to make my own uniform but somethings I don't know.

1.) Where have you guys been getting the GB logo to put on the sleeve?
2.) How do you make your nametag to put on the uniform?
3.) Are there blueprints on how to make the little gadgets that go on the belt?
4.) What kind of knee/elbow pads do the guys where on their elbows and where's the best store(if possible) to buy those?

Yeah yeah, they have probably been asked 1000 times already but, I never paid attention to those before and I couldn't find em. Besides which, Im having enough trouble just trying to track down a damn khaki uniform coveralls. All the local Army/navy stores have are green, black and purple. (Purple! Who in the hell in their right minds in the military wears a purple jumpsuit?! I don't know either.)

1 and 2) I ordered my custom nametag and the uniform logo from a website… I honestly forget which right now… Kel(something) props or something I think.

3) Blueprints, I have no idea, sorry.

4) Elbow pads… this I can answer. Defender Volleyball knee pads… bought them on eBay. They're the perfect fit, you just have to sew the excess underneath the pad and dye them gray (this takes forever!).

1.) Where have you guys been getting the GB logo to put on the sleeve?

There's a whole load of stockists with different quality arm patches, two names that come to mind at the moment Katarra8 and Intergallactic Trading Co. Intergalactic's are better then Katarra's but hers are still reasonable.

2.) How do you make your nametag to put on the uniform?

Katarra also does nametags, custom and film name ones.

Do Not buy from CaptainAmerica/costumecostumecostume.com/Joseph Kerezman. He has been known to take ages to deliver some items and has apparently even ripped off others. If you positively have to buy from him, do it through eBay.

3.) Are there blueprints on how to make the little gadgets that go on the belt?

There is a template for the Trap holster available through GBFans… Irricanian also sells them through his site, MultiMediaMayhem. He also sells the circuitboard seen hanging from the weapon belt above the yellow hose.

You can buy the hose connector from Thiago over on GBFans.

4.) What kind of knee/elbow pads do the guys where on their elbows and where's the best store(if possible) to buy those?

The best were apparently “Markwort” knee pads, but those are rare to come by, another good brand are “Defenders”… but I can't remember the current favorite.

No exact place on where to put the arm patch. You have to put the elbow pads on and then just try the patch in different spots. Put it between the top of the sleeve and pad. Pin it in place and then sew it in.

The end of the name patch should be right at the zipper of jumpsuit. That way it will not be covered up by the alice pack frame strap.

Hey, thanks for the info guys! Im still fuzzy about the doodads (technical term there) on the belt though. I can't make heads or tails about what they are made of. Or even good pics of belt equipment itself.

Another question bout this though…when the GBs hung their throwers from their belts, how do those little…well, they look like J hooks to me, how do those things hold that thrower with a male/female slide lock to hold it onto the proton pack? THey don't look like they are compatible to hold onto each other.

For the gun belt hook you need to use a S hook and bend it. It has to be put through the gun track with a pretty good sized bolt with some washers. You just hang it on a key fob ring, probably should put two next to each other and connect the rings for some extra support for it.

AZspidey on gbfans sells this circuit board. It is lazer cut with the circuit board pattern inbetween two layers of clear non-reflective material. Then all you need to do is add the pieces to it.

As for the pack v-hooks the are just that, male and female pieces made out of aluminum. The male end is on the pack, female on the wand. The open end of the “V” is pointed down so it's like they're stacked. Here's a pic of it with some other parts a machinist friend made for our team.

This is quite possibly one of the best images to work from in terms of identifying the various pieces of equipment on the belt, despite being from the game :

1) LifeGuard - Seen in Ghostbusters II, this is a device used by Fire Departments which emits a shriek alarm whenever a firefighter is in trouble so his colleagues can help to collect him. The particular model used in the second movie is a Lifegard II Pass Alarm.

2) The Circuit Board Pouch. This is comprised of two main elements:
A) A leather tape measure holder, stained or painted black.
B) The circuit board and nixie tubes of a Sanyo ICC-808D calculator.

It should be noted that despite the way the illustration looks, it is not actually connected to #3 It should also be noted that there is a second smaller circuitboard attached to the weapon belt that is also a part of the circuit board pouch, which is connected to the larger board via a coiled black telephone wire.

3) The hose connector. A number of theories have been passed around but I don't think anyone has managed to specifically identify the part thus far.

4) Leather belt loops with metal D-rings, and leather keyrings.

this depends on how long ur name is, ha?

Depends on the nametag maker. Some have a maximum width they'll do and squeeze the name in, similiar to how “ZEDDEMORE” looked. They also might have a minimum. For example a friend with the last name “RAY” has a name tag still 4 inches wide and his name has been stretched across it to not leave empty space on the tag. It's just always a safe bet to put it on the zipper line.
