Why did they use the GB2 logo for their suits and sign? I mean its a good logo showing its the second movie. But why did the Ghostbusters use it it made no sense?

On a list of most frequently asked GB2 questions, I think this one would be #1…

Someone theorized that it signified a “half price” special to go along with that commercial during the montage… Don't think I believe that myself. It was purely a marketing decision on behalf of the producers of GB2.

I think what it meant was it meaning kind of like we're back in business, second chance thing.

I have my own theory: We all know the success the GB logo has on the first film… it was such that they decided to use it as a hook for the promotion for the sequel, like the “Guess who´s coming to save the world once again?” teaser poster (I did saw it months before the premier).
It´s a comedy, nothing is serious here, why should be the logo???

You stole my joke!

After almost destroying NewYork, what's better than returning with a ‘safe sign’ saying “We come in Peace!”

I always figured that it was either a “V” for their victorious return, or a two because it was their second coming. Either way, it tied in with their whole “we're back” add campaign.

Granted the dialogue was left on the cutting room floor. “Theorized” would be wrong. “Exactly what they intended” would be right. Yes the two fingers used to symbolize the marketing of the second movie but they found a way to get away with it within the context of the movie and have it make sense with advertisement. Twice the knowhow, twice the particle power, twice the value.

Yes it does make sense and the sooner people learn to accept it, the sooner we can all be happy :p Next question
