GB3 in cgi is to me somewhat great news. My only concerns are how it'll be done? How I think it should be done:

1) The realistic looking cgi animation should be used. Like others have said go the Final Fantasy Spirits Within and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. Good graphics and backgrounds. Not the Disney/Pixar/family oriented cartoony looking characters and art etc. Like the eyes, face movements, like Polar Express had, and the FF's. Maybe even get the actors to act out the animation. Scan the actors faces for accuracy. TMNT IV looks good but April and Casey and other humans are cartoony looking. The Turtles look great though.

2) I think it should be released (if they can get going on it) by summer 2009. Gives it the 25 years after GB1 and 20 years from GB2's release.

3) Either get Industrial Light and Magic to do the CGI or Sonys own in house animation resources or even the group that did the Final Fantasy's. Or maybe the ones behind the Lord of the Rings effects and cgi.

4) The movie should be titled as not Ghostbusters 3: Hellbent but Ghostbusters: Hellbent or something to seperate this from the two live action films. I don't care either way but maybe it should be somehwat seperated from the other films. Its a new sequel but also different for a new generation of movie goers who may not know its a sequel. And of course its being done differently. I mean TMNT IV went like this as well.

5) I hope they get everyone back and right down to Reitman and Ramis, Weaver, Potts, Moranis, Hudson.

6) Does this mean that going cgi they can get rid of the concept of the GB's handing the torch to new GB's? Can't see why they'd need anymore characters, unless the script really calls for more GB's. I thought in past interviews that Dan Ackroyd said the story had GB's in reguler NYC while other GB's in Hell NYC. Does it still need extra characters? I mean like others have said this could eliminate the need for the original gang from being their ages. It could be done as a new tale thats told from the past, maybe a few years after GB2?

I can't help but wonder if TMNT IV will be the template or if this GB3's fate could be decided from that films box office performance. What do you all think on how it should be done?

Second of all, your point of not calling it Ghostbusters 3 is good, but then stop calling the new Ninja Turtles movie TMNT IV. That's not its title. Its TMNT.

Unless you were gonna make a poll asking what kind of animation it should be, which you didn't, then you should have just put this in with the other thread.
