From what I've heard most of the ‘proposed’ GB3 storyline seems to revolve around the Ghostbusters returning to stop Hell from emerging and destroying the world.

I'm not too keen on this because it strikes me as being a tad far-fetched for my liking, authough existing in a world of fantasy both GB1 and GB2 had a degree of realism in both storys.

I don't think that fighting Hell is really the way the francise should go (if at all), surely the most logical step to take would be to try and keep it as down to earth as possible whilst sticking to the things we love the most about the Ghostbusters universe.

I might be wrong here but didnt Egon refer to Gozer and Zuul as demi-gods in GB1?

If that WAS the case then why don't we take that one step further by introducing a demon with more power (a god perhaps) that attempts to merge the spirit world with our world, this could mean that we get to see the old characters but we also throw in some new characters (if at all) to cope with the threat as well as some new gadgets and vehicles.

Does anybody remember the ECTO-2 helicopter?

Imagine if you will an aerial combat scene involving the Ghostbusters chopper squaring off against a hourde of airbourne creatures.

The possibilities are quite literally endless and if GB3 does go into production (and we all hope it will) lets hope that they really knuckle down and put some effort into it and make it one of the best films of all time.

He didn't say another helicopter he said a helicopter battling airbourne creatures. I'd say that he was referring to Ecto-2 when he said that. But I wouldn't do that, it'd remind me too much of the airplane scene from Dragnet.

im going to congratulate this guy for being one of the few posters to NOT suggest that GB3 include either Gozer OR Vego (or both) returning from the grave. I havent even really thought about what he wrote, but the simple fact that it doesnt rehash from old movies is enough to elicit a compliment from me on this board.

Theres nothing to accomplish by bringing back Vigo/Gozer (or both) and the idea of teaming them up is ridiculous.

Both Vigo and Gozer are completely different entities, Gozer is a demi god that wanted to destroy the earth, Vigo is a historical figure whos spirit was immortalised in a painting (I won't go into the physics) that wanted to enslave the world.
The idea that both parties would agree to combine efforts is about as likely as Ghostbusters 4.

I think the way to go is forwards not backwards but I do think that it would be a good idea to use both 1&2 as stepping stones to part 3.

Imagine if you will the sudden bout of supernatural activity in GB1, then the larger scale activity in GB2, imagine for a moment that the activity in both films was actually preperation for a much larger full scale invasion that could be used for GB3.

AS somepeople here probabley know im mainly in favour of a world wide apocalypse with armies of Gbs fighting Satan, but after watching “The Boogie Man Cometh” recently (for the first ever time) I thibk it would be equally as good to have the Ghostbusters fighting the Boogieman (who should be a demi-god). Maybe the boogie man has been getting restless and instead of just scaring kids has been abducting them, the idea of Egon previously seeing the Boogieman as a child (as used in the Episode) is great and numerous flashbacks could be used. I'd like to see the Boogie more mysteroius thogh, instead of the way the episode showedc him, sort of like wearing a cloak and having bright red eyes and slimy fingures. Also I'd like to see Egon have a showdown with him, a lot of physical (kicks etc) and energy (Proton pack-Egon, and energy sphere-boogie). The fight should pass between kids rooms all over the world. And the very last bit of the fight is in the Boogies realm with the boogie attempting to escape, but everytime he trys to pass through a portal a child appears and says he's not afraid, and states that they're not afraid. Egon can deliver the final blowsto the b oogie before having to escape the realm before the whole think implodes!!!!!!!

I might wright a GB3 script about this!!!!!
