Chances are worth taking, it's what makes life worth living. Faith is all you need. Look on the bright side there's no way it could be as bad as Batman and Robin, I still can't believe they're trying to get a new one made, yesh.

GB2 may not have made nearly as much as the first one but it still made a lot of money for it's time. All movies are not gonna be blockbusters ya now.

I cannot see GB3 being as much a failure and the fact that it cannot get any worser than some long ago follow ups from the last few years: Escape from LA and Crocodile Bundee in LA. And those relentless follow up horror films from Jason and Freddy and now Halloween again. Most aren't successful and yet are still being made. Why?
Yet there's Terminator 3 and Indiana Jones 4 coming, you think Sony won't compete with their own old property sooner or later? Sony has Spiderman, MIB, Mask of Zorro, Godzilla(?), Stuart Little, Charlie's Angels as franchises. Is GB still a franchise? Remember Extreme GB wasn't a successful show or toy line. Sony Pictures Marketing ability is strong, GB3 couldn't never be noticed and not have a hungry audience for it.

Here's the difference between Blues Brothers and GB.

Blues Brothers, in all its glory (I loved the original), was still a fairly corny flick with silly comedy and fun musical numbers. Plotwise, not much substance. I still loved the original. But the original should've stayed on its own. After that, there's not much more to tell. Bottom line. Unless you want to rehash corny, silly fun, which, sequelwise, is not smart.

Ghostbusters is a film a little richer in plot and a little stronger in story. It had (and still has) a strong potential for continuing stories. That's why RGB was such a strong cartoon. Period.

I have to agree, if done badly, it would be bad for the franchise, but GB3 is still a project that could be respectable.

But do the math, if the GB movies go down 50% every movie, GB3 will make like 50 million. And ecolution only made 30 million and that was the ticket to GB3. But since it failed, ther will be no GB3. I really do eat these words some day.

True, they do gotta take chances. But if it comes out and sucks, there will be people on here and other places saying “Man, they should never have made it! Its been ruined!” and it shall p*ss me off past the maxing point. I want a guaranteed good movie, or no movie at all.

Of course it COULD suck…..but I bring this example: Jurassic Park. Part one is great. Two could have been better. Three rivals one (in my opinion - a good movie)

The only way GB3 is viable in my mind is original cast and no “junior” or new GBs……

Look if GB3 is ever made, we have no choice but to accept that they cannot be bustin up ghosts at their current age. They're too old to portray the GB's in performing the needed physical tasks (although I'm sure they can still do some stuff). We must accept new GB's as the concepts. Training new GB's would be a fresh approach for the franchise and seeing the old guys training the new may actually be funny and interesting. As long as the old characters are around tutoring or mentoring the new GB's throughout a GB3, I see no reason this can't be accepted. Your fooling the movie going public if you think old fogies could still be bustin ghosts.
