I remember Bill Murray saying how when he turned up on the set of Ghostbusters 2 to start filming that the script was nothing to what he was originally shown.

I'm sure Sony & co will be trying to tie in as many products as they can in to GB3 probably some up and coming music artist to do a track or two.
I say leave the original Ray Parker Jr track in as the main theme.

Also like AVGN said there was no need for them to have the GB2 logo everywhere, after all they are still the Ghostbusters so just the normal no ghost logo from the first film should of been used.

Even those pesky toy companies who part finance films stick their 2 cents in and make them put things in the movie so they can make the toys to sell.

Don't forget the figure of Louis, another Ghostbusters II inspired item.

Yeah, forgot that one. I guess I didn't think of it because it might be a little less direct: “Let's make a figure of Louis because he was in GB2” less their thought than “Let's make a figure of Louis because he's in the cartoon now because he was in GB2”.

Wow. I wonder what the original script was like.
The original concept of Ghostbusters 2 was called “The Last of the Ghostbusters” and was to involve the Ghostbusters in hell, which Aykroyd later repurposed for the unproduced third movie script.
We did a sequel, and it was sort of rather unsatisfying for me, because the first one to me was the goods, Murray said. It was the real thing. And the sequel, you know, was it was a few years later. There was an idea pitched. And it was like, well, they got us all together in a room. We just laughed for a couple of hours. And then they said, What if we did another one? Heres an idea.
So they had this idea, but it didnt turn out to be the idea when I arrived on the set. Theyd written a whole different movie than the one . And the special-effects guys got it and got their hands on it. And it was just not the same movie. There were a few great scenes in it, but it wasnt the same movie. So theres never been an interest in a third Ghostbusters because the second one was kind of disappointing for me, anyway.
At first there was a completely different script for Ghostbusters II which Bill Murray nicknamed The Last of the Ghostbusters. Needless to say the script was not used and ultimately Dan and Harold wrote a new one.
