I hope so to, now that I have heard that Murray will not be in it, I hope Akroyd can find another smartass to replace him.

Sounds to me like someone found some old news at a page that had no date on it. I hate to shoot hopes down, including my own, but it definately would've been reported somewhere.

Nope.
It was five years between the first and second, it's been 13 years since the last one. 18 years since the first. MAYBE in about 7 years they can re-invent the franchise, but two key factors are important to remember:
1. Columbia has invested its time in a “Men in Black” franchise
2. Ivan Reitman has tried a new formula with “Evolution”
It would take a miracle and a DAMN GOOD script for it to go. Of course, Sony could sell the rights, but I think they want to hold on to the merchandising rights.

Guy's they covered up Lord of the rings until it was being aired and that's what I'm hoping.

I'd LOVE for a third GB movie (a trilogy would be great)… but let's be realistic. Murray wasn't keen on the first sequel, so he'd be out. PLUS Bill owns part of the franchise.
I wouldn't like to see an EGB movie… doesn't sound too thrilling. You'd have to keep the original guys but that would be very unlikely (have you seen Dan or Harold recently?)
It's a nice thought, and Dan does have a script apparently, but it isn't going to happen
Oh well… continue with the fan fiction tho, it's great

Owww have mercy brothas! Yo all livin in a dream world, u guys gonna be still dreamin the same dream in 20 years? Move on, we have reached the end of the Ghostbusters movies. I'd like nothing more than to be proved wrong but that's jus the way it is. You can keep laying the blame on Murray after all it was his fault that GB3 never happened in the first place, but the guy is a genious and he'd rather obviously be filming stupid movies like Charlie's Angels instead and playing golf all day.
