Will Slimer be making a cameo in the upcoming Ghostbusters movie?
Dan Aykroyd: “I’m going to see the script in the next few hours, I’m about to read the third script, I’ve been submitted it and we’ll see what happens.”

So does it mean it's finally completed or does he just take a look at it? (*winston)

Yea, I'd like to see the source too… and man, that's awesome to hear that the script is done (well… a draft at least). They could always go back to the drawing board and change things, but getting a full draft done is indeed progress.

EDIT: And the link… http://www.baltimoremagazine.net/onthetown/index.php/2009/09/dan-aykroyd-in-baltimore/ (found it myself).

First draft is done. however it still has to go through numerous changes first then they go back make another draft review it and see how it is and possibly make more drafts. then what happens is it goes to sony for review and they either approve or deny it based on a lot of factors (are people still intersted, what is it gonna cost, ect.) if they deny it then it could get more revisions or god forbid never be made. so this is really just the first step then you got casting, producers, a director ect to worry about. it seems to be moving a long yet gb3 all depends on bill, dan, harold, and ernie comming to an agreement. I personaly want it to get at least 2 revisions so it dosent suck. it could be done tommorow or two years from now

That's good news. I hope the draft is good enough to convince everyone to keep making progress on the project.

Fingers are crossed.

The information/conclusion based on the same Aykroyd quote.

But all that has now changed as of last Friday, when Dan Aykroyd revealed he had in his possession the new draft for the third film, a fact mentioned in passing, without fanfare, as Aykroyd spoke to Baltimore press during his recent Crystal Head vodka promotional stop;I’m going to see the script in the next few hours, I’m about to read the third script, I’ve been submitted it and we’ll see what happens.
Thanks to Andreas for the link – now we just have to wait and see if he likes it… and if Reitman likes it, and Murray likes it, and if Ramis likes it, and the studio likes it, and then if they can get the cast scheduled, and then if the studio greenlights it… then we might finally have a third movie.
