I hate to say it, but after reading this, I feel like the movie will never be made:

I don't think we read that article the same way. Murray flip-flops several times in that article like he does in all interviews, and at one point he says he wouldn't move forward, then he says he will and that he owes Ivan and that he should eventually do it.

As far as I tell, it looks like the same thing we've always thought, Murray hates sequels, and he might still do it.

I heard the interview live on Sirius and I didn't get a bad vibe from it. He actually said that he owes Ivan and it seemed to me that he does have some interest.

He also said that he loved making GB1 and the original script for GBII was excellent but thhat the special effects team and the agents ruined what dan had, he said the first two drafts were great and that there was something magical about him, danny and harold all being together.

Which most likely has to do with the fact that sequels are almost never as good or better than their predecessors, which to him diminishes the value of the original.

I can understand he wants to do a genuinely good sequel, but really, what makes a sequel good or bad is all a matter of personal taste and opinion. A sequel, even if it isn't as good or better, can still be a good movie on it's own and a decent follow-up that nicely compliments the previous movie(s). Murray doesn't seem to grasp that

I think he does, he just has a high standard for what he would like to see associated with his previous films. I personally see no problem with that.

The writers of Ghostbusters 3 Gene Stupnitsky & Lee Eisenberg
present there next comedy feature “Bad Teacher”

That's extremely encouraging after how horrible Year One was.

This looks absolutely hilarious.

Bill Murray really killin me

Murray:
"Yeah, I guess I’m the problem. Before I was an asset, now I’m a problem. There’s a script somewhere , but I haven’t read it yet.“

Stern then asked bluntly if Murray even had any interest in it.
Murray continues:
”Well, I’ll get to it… I gotta get to it – I feel bad. I got a message and I think people – I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings – it’s not the foremost thing in my mind, so I don’t think about it.

You know, the studio gets excited every 10 years or so. What they’d really like to do is recreate the franchise. I remember when the new Ghostbusters was going to be Chris Rock, Chris Farley and Chris Crane… Kris Kringle… someone – that had it together."

Ashton Kutcher won't be in GB3 if it's 3D:

Kutcher won't be in Ghostbusters 3
Friday, 25 February 2011

Ashton Kutcher has ruled himself out of appearing in the upcoming third instalment of Ghostbusters - because he won't look good in 3D.

The comic actor appears in No Strings Attached, directed by Ghostbusters director Ivan Reitman, and while suggesting he would like a part, hinted it would be shown in 3D.

“I don't do 3D well, it's a weird thing - I have a pretty predominant brow and people think, ‘Oh Jesus, his head’s coming right at me',” he said.

Ivan, who has confirmed he will be directing the eagerly anticipated follow-up, added: “I haven't even said it's in 3D, but that's a good idea. We have talked about it,” before Ashton chipped in: “Actually, that is about the only conversation we've had about it.”

There have a slew of rumours about Ghostbusters 3, but Ivan is keeping his cards close to his chest.

"It's a very good script and a number of the original actors have read it - one in particular has not so we are all waiting for him to read it. And then we will see what will happen,“ he revealed, without naming which actor hasn't read it.

It has been reported Bill Murray is the one holding up the film. He told US ‘shock jock’ Howard Stern: ”Before I was an asset but now I'm a problem. There's a script somewhere but I haven't read it yet.“

He added: ”Ivan wants to make it and I owe him."

No Strings Attached is in cinemas on February 25.

To be honest I think he is going to do it, he is just winding people up now by saying he has not read it. If he was not going to do it he would not be so difficult to his friends Dan, Harold and Ivan who he say's he owes him one.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Apparently when he got the script for Groundhog Day, it took him like forever just to read the first 10 pages. Bill clearly has a tendency to put things off, either intentionally or non-intentionally.
