It's an April Fools that was done on one movie website, but the story was picked up by other movie websites who did not know it was an April Fools, mind you the original did not make it clear that it was an April Fools either.

Predictions:

-Press release from Sony stating they are proceeding with a Ghostbusters…. reboot. Fans go crazy “georgelucasrapedmychildhood” style as the Phantom Menace of the GB world takes shape with new a cast of familiar characters. Egon is a woman, Slimer is a dead monkey, the Ecto-1 is a gas-belching hummer, etc etc.

-Bill Murray announces his serendipitous“retirement” from acting as an indirect comment on the new script.

-I fall asleep and wake up in an alternate universe where Ghostbusters III is amazing and touted as the Citizen Kane of our era.

Prove me wrong, Sony.

Just another example of why I hate TMZ.

Their headline for that video is “'Ghostbusters' Star: Not Holding My Breath for Part 3.” Not once in that interview does he say anything even close to resembling “Not holding my breath for Part 3.”

He says he hears its happening, but he hasn't heard anything official, and doesn't know for sure.

Bunch of toolbags.

Prediction #4: Ghostbusters 3 is released as an actual sequel and it kicks ass. However, since the characters have aged and they have invented new equipment because it's set in the present, and the ghosts are done in CGI, retards go apeshit “waahwaahitsnotthesamesoitsuckstheyrapedmychildhoodwaahwaah”-style.

No. It's not.

If I recall correctly that same website posted the same thing back in like January or earlier. Exact same “casting” posting.

To paraphrase Alasdair Wilkins over at the Gawker Network, considering Bill Murray has (to our knowledge) still not read the script and already signed up to play Franklin Delano Roosevelt in another movie…it all sounds pretty unreliable and probably should be taken with a massive heaping of salt until we hear something more substantial.
