Wait, what?

Ansari isn't on The Big Bang Theory… and TBBT doesn't have many racial jokes.

This is the first I've heard of this. I mean, sure they've had a few, a lot of shows do, but you're making it sound like it's a basis for the show, which it is not at all.

Don´t missunderstood… I never said Azazi was on TBBT, and I really love that tv show… but there are some interracial jokes, some are good, some not that much… and will love not to see those on GB3. That´s it.

I made this photoshop of Azazi as a Ghostbuster:

Ok… I just don't get why you brought up The Big Bang Theory in reference to Azazi.

Is it because he's Indian, so you think they'll make racial jokes, which you equate to TBBT?

I'm just not seeing the connection here.

some new news from danny

After years of rumors, it appears that Ghostbuster 3 is finally moving forward and will likely do so with or without Bill Murray's involvement. Dan Aykroyd appeared on The Dennis Miller Show to discuss the project, dropping specific details about the sequel, hinting that the plan is to film in Spring of 2012 no matter what happens casting-wise.

“Yes, we will be doing the movie and hopefully with Mr. Murray,” he says, "That is our hope. We have an excellent script. What we have to remember is that ‘Ghostbusters’ is bigger than any one component, although Billy was absolutely the lead and contributive to it in a massive way, as was the director and Harold , myself and Sigourney . The concept is much larger than any individual role and the promise of ‘Ghostbusters 3’ is that we get to hand the equipment and the franchise down to new blood.“

The comedian also confirmed reports that the plot will revolve around a new generation of Ghostbusters and hinted at the states of his and Ramis' characters.

”My character, Ray, is now blind in one eye and can't drive the cadillac,“ he says, ”He's got a bad knee and can't carry the packs… Egon is too large to get into the harness. We need young blood and that's the promise. We're gonna hand it to a new generation.“

As for who might be cast as the new characters, Aykroyd says that, while no decision has been made, he does have a fondness for one piece of prospective casting.

”I like this guy Matthew Gray Gubler from the ‘Criminal Minds’ show,“ he adds, ”But there's going to be a casting. We're going to see everyone that wants to do it. We're going to need… three guys and a young woman."

thanks to coming soon for the info

Can't say I'm too thrilled with the idea of making the old GBs completely useless. Make them old, sure… cuz they are old. But Ray blind in one eye? I dunno about that.

Matthew Gray Gubler would be good though. He's awesome on Criminal Minds.

Ditto on Matthew Gray Gubler, out of a lot of names that have been “attached” to Ghostbusters 3, he's one of the ones I'm actually happy with, even at the rumour stage.

Having the guys old and too knackered to do the job seems against the grain of Ghostbusters, too serious and depressing. I hope it's the sort of elements that are usually written out by Harold's influence.

Hopefully also this is more Dan dropping hints to Bill to get his act in gear, than an acceptance of moving on without Dr. Peter Venkman.

Sincerely don´t see a GB movie without Bill, and with the other members useless… I find the idea so depressing, I hope Dan & company can convince “Mr. Murray” to join the project, and leave behind that handicapped members idea.

And about Matthew Gray Gubler, he´s great on Criminal Minds, but come on!! This movie is a comedy, right? if they want to go serious, it´s ok, but I don´t see Matthew jumping with sarcastic jokes (if there´s any).

I´m holding my breath till new good news (or rumours) appear on the way.

I'm more interested in the ‘we’re going to see everyone that wants to do it' - I'm currently available!

IMO..I say the GhostBusters mythos has only one obstacle that will be tough to sort out with a script:
It's
just
too
BIG.
We all have our favorite ways to celebrate these characters as well as the franchise itself..but expectations alone could topple this project. I hope there is a GhostBusters 3..and with Ridley Scott trying to relaunch both Alien AND Blade Runner(another two of my favorite films), maybe our franchise will see it's time for a GB relaunch. I don't know how I feel about any of this…
