Ok how about this…
For the old gohstheads: Ray Parker Jr. but have it remastered
For the Rappers: ummm I don't know any good rappers, 50 Cent, or one the home towns of Memphis, TN Three Six Mafia (that would be kool)
For the Rockers: MetallicA
For the Punks: Green Day
For the Techno: Moby
For the Pop people (whatever you call them): Spears,or Justin as bad as I hate to say it but those covers wouls be intresting to hear.
Ok IMO MetallicA or Megadeath, even Slayer or Motorhead sum heavy metal band, but they would have to be an older band tho 'cause the Ghostbusters are classic.

well we all have to remember..if the plot permits…the whole hell on earth gig….then the soundtrack would have to have SOME pretty dark shit….i made a playlist for a GB3 soundtrack…i dont have it infront of me…but i know one is that song by nickleback:someday…i just like the line…Someday saomehow…im gonna make it alright but not right now…

Speaking of all this talk over a new version - there's actually a pretty good heavy metal version of Ray Parker's original by Vomitron, and another pop-rocky Wheatus-esque version done by NOFX. So Junky created a weird electronic ambient mix with samples of Egon, and Ed Rush and Opticals, is as far as I can tell, drum and bass, and totally unrelated apart from the title…
