It seems that most GB fans are into rock, so part of me wants to say have some more rock. Oh yeah, I can't really picture someone who watches Rita Hayworth movies, or owns Liza Minelli tapes, would really listen to rap. (Venkman) I can't really see Ray or Egon bumpin' to some tight beats, or whatever it is the kids say these days.
But then what if Return of the Jedi switched from an original score, to like a soundtrack by the Dust Brothers or something. It would obviously interrupt the flow. But those movies take place close together, chronologically. If GB3 was made, it might make sense to change it a lil bit

But in any case, they would have to play the original Ray Parker jr./ Huey Lewis and the News cover at the title sequence when they unveil the new three fingered GB logo. But in GB2 Run DMC did an alternate version, in addition to the original, so why not have both?

Oh yea, the newer GB logos are cool for marketing, and even the title sequence, but come on, we need the original on Ecto 1, the firehouse, and definately their sleeves. LETS GET SERIOUS HERE!

If there was going to be GB3, I would have the Original theme song, but a remixed versiome remixesn of it. That would be sooo cool! Also maybe have other remixes of the other good songs from both movies. I pretty much like both ideas though.

You could never replace the original Ghostbusters theme. That song will echoe through time long after we are dead… hopefully.

yeah, the Mad Caddies version is alright since its a Ska/punk version which is cool, the Rasmus version sucks they dont even play the whole song,it would of been so much better if they played it the whole way through cuz the beat was cool. Less Than Jake usually does cool covers i think they should do a new cover. or just have Ray Parker Jr. Rerecord it.

If your tlking about Ray parker Juniors Ghostbusters, it must be in Ghostbusters 3. Although I have to say, the original version does sound slightly dated now. I think that they should slightly modify its sound to suit the ears of a 2005 audience.

We are going to need so bad a remix version of Ghostbusters by Britney Spear or any “flavour-of-the-month” so called “musician” for the GB3 soundtrack if GB3 ever sees daylight…

Yeah, it would be sacrilege to not have the original song. Man I love that song to death… But seeing as this topic title says soundtrack, and that includes all the songs…

Well, I'd hate to see any of these grunge bands who seem so keen to pin themselves to the title of punk anywhere near Ghostbusters (Have they ever heard of trying too hard?). But some classic rock tunes? After all, Peter is a fan of metal (Apparently.). But then I'm not such a metaller. More of a true punk…and songs about race riots probably don't quite fit the film… But no, classic rock would be good… Stuff like Sunshine of Your Love.

Well through my own choice,I really can't stand Pop or Rock music.
I'm more into Hip Hop.

If Britany spears ever did the theme song I would have to shoot some one. I like the original version, but I wouldnt mind if someone different did the song aslong as the song itself stayed the same. (*peter)

As far as the main theme; it would get more criticism if they even remotely touched the original theme. It's simply to classic; too recognizable. It'd be like using a Honda Civic for the Ecto-mobile, a 12 gauge shotgun for the proton packs, ect…

Beyond that, “We're Back” is the only other song for either movie I'd say could be brought forward to a new sound track. Personally, I'd like to see a bunch of new songs come in; and not by non-talents like Britney Spears or cookie cutter “bands” or racist rappers. Put only real musicians on it please.

“Superstition”; performed by Stevie Ray Vaughan would be nice, but I don't think there ever was a studio version.

Mostly, I'd say it should be mostly new; with new songs inspired by the franchise. I'm sure I'm not the only one to have written songs about the Ghostbusters. (for that matter; has any one else written anything about the GBs? I've written a few things here and there.)
