I guess this is the audio equivalent of the bogus Star Wars II trailer that made the rounds last year… it contained a swordfight scene from “Braveheart” that just had blue & green glows painted onto the swords to make them look like lightsabers. It also had the opening “sandscape” scene from “Dune” with a second sun painted in.

Well, so far I can tell the “Egon” quotes in the beginning of the GB3 MP3 (“How long has he had this?” and “Get this to the lab, etc.”) are from Harold Ramis' character in “As Good as it Gets.” Now, if our hoaxer really wanted to make us wonder, he would use Ramis' line from “Stripes;” “I swear I'll still respect you… just use more whipped cream!” smile

I've made my share of GB teasers in the past, and good sources of in-character sound bites are:

Venkman & Egon: “Stripes”
Stantz: “Dragnet,” “Casper”
Janine: “Pretty In Pink” (sample line: “When he kissed me, my thighs were on fire!”)
Louis: “Little Shop of Horrors”
