GB3=New Ghostbusters Merchandise!

So with a third Ghostbusters movie apparently close to being made, that means we, the fans, will be gettting some hopefully cool new merchandise along with it. I was hoping with the videogame release this would start to happen, but other than a few t-shirts I haven't really seen much else. I was hoping to start seeing some props from the movie like the trap, or pke meter, pke goggles, or even a full sized proton pack be made. There are some really cool sites out there that specialize in movie prop replicas but I haven't seen any GB stuff. So many people want to be a ghostbuster for halloween but often end up choosing to make their own as the retail one is just awful. Inflateable proton pack? Terrible! Even the jumpsuit is pretty awful. http://www.buycostumes.com/Ghostbusters-Adult-Costume/17757/ProductDetail.aspx Case in point. So thats what I'm hoping for as a fan. Some movie props that aren't really cheap looking but won't break the bank either. What other cool GB merch does everyone else want to see?

Master Replicas was planning to produce Ghostbusters prop replicas, but decided to cancel the release because they felt they wouldn't be able to achieve the level of quality said props would deserve.

The thing to keep in mind is these props would've been display pieces only, not designed to be worn out on a night of Halloween revelry.

Display pieces they may have been designed for but worn they would have been. Especially by me if I had gotten my hands on one.

Bummer… I really was expecting for those props by MR, there goes my last hope of getting a real looking proton pack. :s

Be that as it may, if you're gonna buy a proton pack prop replica, there's no way you're just gonna let it hang around in your house and not use it at least once for halloween. It's disapointing to hear someone was going to make some GB prop replicas but canceled. Maybe someone else will step up. But come on, we gotta do better than an inflateable proton pack.

So they would have just been missing the ALICE frame? That'd be an easy fix right?

So they would have just been missing the ALICE frame? That'd be an easy fix right?

Presumably, although they didn't go into specifics about what would be missing. The bonkers logic there was that as the Rubies Pack was wearable, they apparantly couldn't make a Master Replicas pack wearable.

And it would probably be difficult, because you'd have to dismantle the MR Pack to mount the ALICE frame.

I seem to remember hearing somewhere that the shells for the MR packs were going to be designed and molded like they should be mounted on a ALICE Frame…leaving it open for the fanbase to mount it if they wish, but they couldn't sell it already mounted…or something along those lines

I was at Target the other day and saw exact replicas of the Original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the original boxes too for the 25 anniversary. What I great idea. I would love to see Real Ghostbusters in the toy isle again.

Also something from the first movie. I remember when the movie came out in 84 all the record shops had tons of Ghostbusters pins. Just the logo on a quarter sized pin for your jean jacket. I remember everybody wore them that summer and the start of school that year. Just something from my childhood that I have been looking for ever since.

I really hoped that there would be a little taste of that this summer with the game coming out. Like when I was a kid and Ghostbusters was everywhere the store, McDonalds, Hardees, TV, MTV. It was a great time for a Ghostbusters fan.
