Getting GB:2 to run on your modern PC: A tutorial

O.K. So you wanna play the 1989 PC version of ghostbusters 2? Who can blame you? It's the best ghostbuster game out there so far.

You're gonna need to do a few things before you can though, but don't worry. It's easy.

To stop the game going into hyperdrive on your modern PC, you're gonna need to slow it down. This is much easier then it sounds, because all you have to do is download the latest version of Dosbox. Then Install it. You dont need to run it right now, but if you wanna, go ahead.

Scary isn't it.

I recommend putting a shortcut to it on your desktop, just to make it easier later on.

Now head over to the fantastic Abandonia and download the game (this link takes you straight to ghostbusters 2, but feel free to poke around and download some more golden oldies)

Once the file has beamed down, unzip all the folders to the same file. If it asks you about overwriting anything, just say Yes.

Now, heres the fun part, click and drag the file called GBII directly onto your dosbox shortcut (make sure it's not GB2 or GB. These won't work right).

Sit back. watch the intro. Bust some ghosts.

If you get stuck the manual is on the Abandonia page.

Hope you enjoy.

Luckily I beat this game years earlier. Otherwise it would still haunt me. But I lost the manual, so its nice to have acess to it again.

This game is almost impossible to beat without the game manual! As it has the all the streets mapped out for when you get to the liberty level.

But thanks for posting the links misfit! As I was reminded of other great dos games from the site you posted. Halloween Harry, Alone in the Dark, Bio Menace, Fatty Bear…

Sad part is, I can't even get to the Statue of Liberty level. *dies* Everyone winds up at Parkview. Sad really.
