Hi there, everybody. My name is Garrett Gilchrist, and in 2001 I headed up to South Dakota for the Camp Rewind film festival.

I was traveling with Jason Santo and his then-wife April, and Jason had just written several articles for a website about his love for Ghostbusters. It was a special “Ghostbusters week,” so I contributed, with a look at Rick Moranis.

Yeah. I dig the Rick.

Anyway, I thought it would be a fun idea to shoot a Ghostbusters movie while we were there.

But I failed. Having fun at the film festival, the cast quickly lost interest, and didn't take the shoot at all seriously. The shoot degraded into utter chaos and silliness, and I realized we were creating one of the stupidest movies ever made.

The final result made no sense and had very little to do with Ghostbusters.

It became very popular, with people enjoying it for its stupidity …

So it became a yearly tradition.

Ghostbusted 2 took the theme even farther, with a completely insane 50-minute film about the failure to make a Ghostbusted 2.

Finally, in 2003, we shot Ghostbusted 3, aka “The Real Ghostbusted,” where I finally actually got to make a real Ghostbusters film. Outfits and proton packs and everything. It was wonderful.

As I write this, Ghostbusted 3 is still being finished, and only some of it has been released.

But most of it, and all the classic Ghostbusted films, are now available on the wonderful Ghostbusted Trilogy DVD, a collection of utterly insane and stupid improvisational comedy, done in the spirit of Ghostbusters.

Watch the clips online!

Enjoy!

Kind of stupid…but I shouldn't be talking. Look at the stuff on my website!

Funny though. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't bring it to Sundance. (^_^)

*edit*

I tried to watch the second Ghostbusted, but the file won't play. What the hell is an rm file? I could view the .mov files, etc., but not the rm file.

.rm is RealMedia. Some POS software you have to install to view low quality video formats. Pre-bundled with spyware when you install it for your convenience.

Please reply soon, as I will be forced to contact Sony and their copyright team.

Then you have a lotta calls to make to their “copyright team” considering all the fansites, fanfilms, fanfics and other related stuff out there.

Fanfiction also falls under fair use of copyrights law. We don't sell it, and we don't claim ownership of the Ghostbusters copyrights.
