Just a note, guys, that all three of the Ghostbusted fanfilms (not for profit, not for sale) are available at my Youtube now.

I recommend watching them in reverse order, since the third is the best and most Ghostbustery of the lot.

Again, these very strange films were shot every year from 2001 to 2003 at the Camp Rewind Film Festival in Rapid City, South Dakota. The cast were low budget filmmakers and actors from across the country. They're all improvised comedies, and very odd, in ways that continue to delight me.

No one really wanted to be in the first two films or take them seriously at all, so the results are incredibly incoherent and bizarre, particularly Ghostbusted 2, which I adore for that reason. In both Ghostbusted 1 and 3, “star” Jason Santo walks out of the film halfway through, leaving the other cast members to pick up the pieces. In both Ghostbusted 1 and 2 I was TRYING TO make a Ghostbusters film, but with a very uncooperative “cast” I never got much that was ghost or Ghostbuster related, so the films have little to do with the movies - apart from the general feeling that the Rewind fest is haunted.

Ghostbusted 3 was titled “The Real Ghostbusted” and in it I accomplished what I'd been trying to accomplish all along - a Ghostbusters film. I accomplished this by getting Mike Stoklasa and Jason Santo more involved in the writing - getting them more excited over making a “real” film …. Mike Stoklasa is the standout in Ghostbusted 3, as a depressive and hateful man - he's not really acting, he's actually like that.
