Yeah i'm down in Texas where we're trying to start a franchise in Austin. We'll be going to the Wizard World con in arlington coming up in november(will be wearing our gear) if anyone is going (will be posting to con message list closer to time of con to maybe get together with other ghostheads there)

I just had a brian fart but AMT is own by ERTL if im not mistaken and AMT did the Ecto1a model in 1989 so maybe they have the rights to it

Keep in mind that this is only a PROTOTYPE,which means not finished.Wait fer the final pics, then charge their building like an angry mob

Yeah, but usually a prototype isn't like this. A prototype model of the Ecto-1 wouldn't have the 1A's roof equipment, it's a VERY big mistake to make if they think it's the E1. Johnny Lightning I can fully understand, they alreay had a model made.

The Ectomobile looks good save for the 1A bit but Slimer… :-(

Either way,its 1/18.That's damn big.For most of us,it's gonna be as close to gettin a real Ecto as anything.Another thing,Previews is'nt always spot on with their photos,so it could either be an older photo,or maybe…just maybe they're doing 1 and 1A???

I know 1/18 means 1/18 of the actual size, but how big will this model be?

The official announcement from Joyride Studios said:
…expand its licensing properties to include movie-car replicas from Animal House, Ghostbusters, National Lampoon's Family Vacation, etc…
Doesn't say whether they're doing the Ecto-1 or Ecto-1A specifically, although if they were doing the 1A they could have easily said Ghostbusters II *shrug*

Either way, we're getting a new, hopefully better, model of one of the Ectomobiles. Yippee!

Hmm. That's definitely the 1A, minus the radar dome (again). It's still listed on “Collectors Net USA” as the “Ecto-1”…

… and is available for pre-order ($29.95 + $7.00 shipping, due out March 2004). I wonder who originally slipped on the name?

i guess it IS possible it could be an old prototype pic of the amt/ertl 1A model, but somehow i doubt it…
