Is GHOSTBUSTERS being screened anywhere in London? I've done a Google search but can't seem to find anything.

I heard someone say it is being screened at the London Imax if that helps.

Thanks very much Batman2. I've found all the cinemas that will be showing it in London. I may go and watch a screening every night if I can at a different cinema each time.

I'm very exited as I haven't seen GHOSTBUSTERS in a cinema since 1984 and it was a great experience, not just the film itself but the atmosphere and the cinema that I saw it in. There's nothing quite like watching a film with an audience on a big screen with good quality sound.

I caught it last week in Columbia with about 30 of my closest strangers. “Registered voters” got the biggest laugh.

I noticed something though. I kept catching myself watching the background, rather than the actual movie. Probably because I know the movie so well, I don't need to watch the intended parts.

I also had to pimp-slap the part of me that keep complaining about driving 30 miles and spending almost $9 to see a movie I've had on DVD for years.

Took the whole family to see it tonight and we had a blast. My only regret was not wearing my uniform because their were quite a few dressed up. Like the person before me already stated, I found myself checking out the background a lot. Things I never noticed before, like stay puft is painted on the side of the building right next to the firehouse. The funniest part for me was hearing my 7 year old daughter say “I have seen shit that will turn you white.” Not appropriate for a little girl but it was damn funny. Their were a few kids there, and I hope that they are no life long gb fans!!! Seeing this film in the theaters really makes me want to see new films, my fingers are crossed!!!

Unfortanatly my theater doesn't seem to be playing it so I can't go to see it.

The theater I went to see it didn't have too many people attending. The theater also had a mishap. After the trailers ran, the Footloose remake started rolling, and people were like “This isn't Ghostbusters!” A few people and I checked if the screen number was right, and it was. The front desk said they were on it, and after they stopped it, they had to replay a couple of trailers; people were like “ughhh”.. it was pretty funny.

Hey all,

This is my first post in over a year since I joined. Everytime it approaches this time of year I get back ‘into’ Ghostbusters and often start reading trivia, watching trailers and then finally digging out the DVDs. This year the theatrical re-release has made it even more special.

Question for those who have seen this already:

Is it the same transfer as the DVD from 2005, the Blu-ray or an entirely different one? I haven't watched the Blu-ray version properly still as I did not like what I read about the transfer. I am just wondering if it is the same Blu-ray transfer whether all the problems are noticeable in the theater or not. Also if it is indeed the Blu-ray version, do you think I will enjoy seeing it for the first time in a theater?

It was the best quality I ever saw of Ghostbusters. The sound was terrific, I didn't notice the film “grain” as much as I did in the blu-ray.

That's brilliant news to my ears. What put me off from watching the Blu-ray was all the noise in the picture from the changed brightness and contrast on the digital transfer. I guess even if I do see it, the sound itself or simply seeing it on the big screen should be more than enough.smile
