We've talked plenty about it, but the first film will always draw the larger amount of the discussion because it started the whole thing.

First many fans look at GB II with disgust as RGB was not accommodated for other than the Green Ghost being called Slimer. It went straight against the animated series concept and the timeline as it suggests the ghostbusters were out of business for five years.

Second is the logo choice which they decided to stamp on the doors of the Ecto-1 (a) and on the uniforms and the front sign to the firehouse. Didn't look all that good.

Third the Janine with Louis factor. Thank you Harold for screwing that up!

Fourth is the mood slime. Why pink/purple and whats up with all the emotions feeding it. Its sometimes comes off being a bit……..Yeah Whatever!

Fifth is what happened to the comedy part of the movie? Jokes were few and between. (I blame the editor and Ivan for that one)

I could go on all day about the issues I have with GB II. Lets hope the 3rd movie takes note of all this.

It does, I was just stating why people don't like it. If you like it, then good. Enjoy the movie. Not trying to take it away from you.

1) The cartoon and the movies are two different things. They aren't going to have Slimer be the sidekick in the movie for obvious reasons.
2) I liked the two logo they used for the ghost.
3)I don't get your complaint about Janine and Louis. I mean it was obvious that Egon was annoyed by her in the first movie. Louis seemed more committed to the relationship than Egon was.
4) The slime went along with what Egon was doing at the beginning of the movie. And he was right. Human emotions can affect the phsical environment.
5) There were plenty of funny scenes.
Jason: You know my Dad said you guys are full of crap.
Ray: Well some people have problems beliving in the paranormal.
Jason: No. He just says you guys are full of crap and that's why you went out of business.
Egon: Let's see what happens when we take away the puppy.
Peter: Hey! The world's gonna end in 1992! Or better yet 1994!?
The look on Peter's face when that woman is telling him about the alien.
Peter: Where do you find these people?
Peter: Hey! You know…I'm a voter! Aren't you supposed to lie to me and kiss my butt?
Peter: And he stinks. You're right senior. Did his father stink? Yeah? Daddy was a smelly? Huh?
I don't feel like typing more in but there was plenty of funny parts if you ask me.

I still don't get the “then he crossed the border” joke. If someone ever gets to interview Harold Ramis, they should ask that as one of the questions.

You're definitely in a minority on that one. I won't even mention fan sentiment–even the other writers of the shows and comics didn't like the idea. The cartoon continued to develop Egon and Janine even after GB2–one of the key episodes in doing so even won an Emmy. Extreme Ghostbusters didn't even mention Louis. Even some of the recent IDW and Tokyopop comics have dropped hints–small ones, granted, but far more than they've ever said about Louis.

I personally consider the Louis/Janine squickfest to be the Jar Jar Binks moment of Ghostbusters.

Apart from the Janine and Louis thing I think this was a perfectly good movie.

Some stuff was pretty good (Vigo, underground metro, river of slime, out-of-business GBs) but there was a lot of stuff that kept snapping me out of the story telling :

1. The new logo. It would be good for the poster, but not actually IN the movie. Yes, this is the second movie, we get it.

2. Copy/pasting issues : We need something huge walking the streets of New York.

3. Ending : The power of love… Really ?

4. The morphing painting : It's a funny picture, yes, but come on… Just paint Vigo out of it and put it on fire.

5. Cross-dressing Janosz

6. Ecto 1A : Too many junk. Even the 3rd DeLorean seemed less crowded.

The rest is pretty good… Certainly not as funny as the first one, but that could be attributed to the darker tone…

…Or the execs trying to soften the edge to keep kids from freaking out.
