Ghostbusters 2 wasn't that bad.

As I say, I think it's just personal preference, i'm aware majority of people have that same way of thinking.

As I say, I'm a big fan of the first movie and the memorable dialogue and wouldn't want it any other way, I just found the slightly less comical and almost slightly darker approach of the 2nd more to my taste. It's probably not a popular idea but I've always been in favour of a 3rd GB film been much more terrifying and having a more sinister plot, focusing even less on the comedy. I know it would never happen, and would probably be a disaster, but it's somthing I was always curious about seeing, even if I was the only 1 who would want to watch it

GB II is a great film, it has a lot of great moments and some bad ones but i still love it and prefer it to 98% of the movies that exist on this earth.

The problem is, Ghostbusters is flawless, simply perfect, so in comparison GB2 will always SEEM like a bad movie, just because it didn't live to the impossible standard of the first, becuase it really couldn't.

I also think RGB was a little to blame, i think they tried to them cater the film to that market of kids who watched the cartoon, had the movie came out in 86 or something b4 the cartoon i think you would have see a much different film.

Hrmhrmhrm…something I didn't know until today.

Both Wikipedia and IMDb state that Howard (“Higher and Higher”) Huntsberry starred in the 1987 movie La Bamba as none other than…Jackie Wilson. He performed the song “Lonely Teardrops” on the soundtrack.

So at least we may know what our mysterious crooner looked like…I imagine he looks a bit like Jackie Wilson, or else they wouldn't have cast him in the movie.

Word. Just look at Janine's new style, Egon's higher hair, Winston fully shaven, And slimer's bigger role. RGB was both a blessing and a curse in the end. Though if you really look beneath the surface GB2's actually raunchier than the first movie. All one needs to do is check out that scene where the gBs happily spray their slime inside the statue of liberty. It's a flawed masterpiece, GB2.

For my money you can do a lot worse than “Ghostbusters II” but it's still like the prototypical phone-in sequel. It's a perfect example of a movie where all the necessary parts were in place and they actually succeeded in hitting all the right beats and that's exactly the problem. It brings nothing new to the table.

I find it entirely entertaining and enjoyable and it's far from the cinematic monstrosity that many make it out to be but ultimately its inferior-sequel status is deserved.

What I love in Ghostbusters,it´s that seious comedy, specially Peter´s ironical jokes.
I love the two movies, specially, the second.
In the second movie,we all can see how cool is Dr.Venkman. (*peter)

Ghostbusters 2 has a special place in my heart, because I saw it before I ever saw the first one. My family got it on vhs when it came out, and my sisters and I watched it over and over again. I am pretty sure we wore that thing out.

It was definetly a good experience to see that one as a small child, and then later grow into the more adult oriented Ghostbusters 1.

I don't mind GB2. Sure, as a sequel per se it's a bit weak, but it has its moments (although personally I thought the Janine/Louis chemistry was a bit forced). The courtroom scene is a favorite in our house…mom jokes that's because both of us have sat jury duty before (boring) and wish something exciting would happen.

I still find myself mildly disappointed at the ending–Vigo always seemed too evil to go down so easily.

You could tell that they were trying to incorporate some RGB elements into it.

In fact, I think I read an article somewhere (Cinefex, maybe?), where some kids had visited the set, and were asking Harold Ramis why his hair wasn't blond like in the cartoon, and similar questions to the effect.

Not to mention bringing Slimer back, when really, he didn't need to be in the second film, other than he was so popular.

I think that might have been part of the point. Being as evil as he was, Vigo had no idea that the people of New York City could summon up any sort of goodwill. You must admit, “Higher and Higher” AND “Auld Lang Syne” in short succession must have ramped up the slime's power to an impressive extent; you might even say the slime's power went “OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAND!”
