I wouldn't get too excited about it until you are actually sitting in the theater watching it. A lot of things can happen from now till then. It takes very very little for a movie to go off track and not be made.

Yeah…but on that same track there's just as much reason to be optimistic.

Plus I stated that I'm happy for the franchise regardless of whether or not the 3rd movie happens. It's good to have new life pumped into the franchise 26 years after the first movie.

Now is as good a time as any for a sequel considering Tron is making its way back, Top Gun could possibly have another movie, Wall Street…I mean it's just a good time for reboots/long awaited sequels.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this video before, but this is the first time I've heard Murray talk about the movie without being outwardly negative. This mixed with the Scream Award appearance, could these be a sign??

There's an interview with the CEO of Sony (or thereabouts) in this month's Empire. When asked if they are making Ghostbusters 3 the answer is:

Yes. (laughs)

Make of that what you will.

That's the puppy. it's the last line of a ‘fans questions put to movie execs’ feature. Not worth buying the mag for, but worth a glimpse in the shops!
