As long as the origional cast can contribute in some form I do not see a remake. Its obvious they will not be the main actors but they could definately play a supporting role and contribute behind the camera.

I agree you with you there. As long as they are in the film and are surrounded by the others that would be great!

Maybe a live action TV series either with a new set of characters or new actors playing the old characters. Give it the SG1 treatment and I reckon a third movie, even if it didnt surround the original actors, or had them as minor roles would be almost definite.

Let's not forget a template from Supernatural, that's also working out as a great show that should be looked for as inspiration.

Maybe they could make a live action TV serie like CSI and later if it is a huge succes they could do spin-offs like CSI Miami & CSI NY.
I mean Ghostbusters are like fireman, there ghosts everywhere and only 4 guys can't do the job of catching them all over the world.
If you see to the two movies it looks like their's only ghosts in NY.
It's like Aykroyd first idea with more then 4 GB's:
His original idea for Ghostbusters was set in the future, where an army of Ghostbusters fought hordes of ghosts.

I can see it now…

Ghostbusters: New Orleans

:p

Let's not go Ghostbusters meets Lord Of The Rings, that would be a bit too silly.

Great, the next film should BLATANTLY be “Ghostbusters UK” and it should feature a spirit photographer haunted by his dark past and a Royal Air Force pilot with an obsession for demonology who have to save the Prime Minister when the Houses of Parliament becomes the centre of an interdimensional crossrip in which an Ancient named Kron'toph is attempting to force its way into this world.

Oh wait…

Smooth, Iain.

Real… real smooth.
